Long time no see: Essie - Angora Cardi

Another 'Long time no see' and it's Essie again. I picked it up from the shelf and I was surprised at how much I love the colour, I wanted to put it on my nails right away. I feel that because of Mint Candy Apple I forget how much I love Angora Cardi and don't give a chance to Essie. It's so easy to work with, it's almost funny.

 Softer light.

Just three pictures because when I put it on my computer I realized all look the same, even these three, with the one being in softer light, but all in all I kept the same position of hand and it seems pointless to show you 5 identical pictures.

Anyway, I really love this polish, I don't know why I neglect it so much. It's a two coater, application is really easy - which surprised me greatly, having the horror of MCA in my memory as Essie polish - and it dries super fast and glossy, I didn't put TC on at all and had a smudge free mani for a couple of days. It really got me thinking I must clear the WL of Essie a bit, Angora Cardi proves to me Essie can kick ass.

Today a short one, I don't feel particulary chatty. Still, I wanted to show you this beauty. Do you like it? What do you think about Essie as a brand?

Thank you for reading!

BB Couture - Moon Over Manhattan

Evening darlings! This is posted later than usual because my computer went all funny on me today. I had a wonderful weekend though - starting with Friday and one of the best concerts of one of my favourite bands ever. So it was a good wekeend, very relaxing. An escape from the studying for a while. And in this few days that I was away loads happened in my nail polish world. I'll do separate posts about it, so I won't talk much about it now.

Right now a really bad news hit me - BB Couture Dragon's Breath might be completely sold out. Hooold on an effing minute! Do I have it? NO I don't! So one bottle more for me, please! If any of you don't feel particularly attached to their bottle, let me know, we can arrange a swap or something. :) But it just hit me with the news that BB Couture can get sold out just as any other polish ... with 30 or something on my WL, my most wanted brand of the WL, that's not a very relaxing news. But it's so effing hard to get to them for me. Not because we wouldn't have ways, Overallbeauty rocks all the way to Slovenia too, but the price is not friendly to my student budget and the customs are a little bitch too. But I guess I'll have to do something about my long WL and BB Couture!

And because of the BB Couture news I'll show you a BB Couture today. As most of you know, a friend of mine moved her Helmer to my place for some time and kindly let me play with all the content. The helmer is defintion of heaven, seriously (one drawer of O.P.I. only!), I've aready played with a couple of them, but BBs I  took out only the ones I didn't know by name. Since most of them are on my WL, basically only Moon Over Manhattan was left and I couldn't decide from the bottle if I like it or not, so I put it on the nails.

See the silver specks in it? Forgive me for the lack of describing it properly, to me it felt almost glass-flecked, but I'm not sure if it would fall into that category by the expert opinion - perhaps it's better to say it's micro glitter. But I love it as much as I love glass flecked finish, so a major plus! Either way, it's a fantastic, really fantastic finish that trully rocks this colour. The colour itself is very unusual. I feel it's almost a bit more dusty IRL, very cool. When I put it on, it was so unusual I didn't know if I like it or not. An hour later I still couldn't stop looking at my nails, I loved it so much. It grows on you, it's really fantastic. And yet another one of BBs to put on my WL. Well, with 30 already there, one more or less ... ;)

Oh, yes, this was two coats. It applied like a dream, as BB usually does, I absolutely adore their brush. I don't wear TC on pictures! I don't think I added it at all, it dried really fast. Perfect polish, in short.

How many BBs do you crave? What's the most listed brand on your WL?

Thank you for reading!

O.P.I. - The Show Must Go On scotch tape accent mani

Heya people. I feel like writing a post today, and this is actually my NOTD. I really love how it turned out, so I wanted to show you the mani right away. As you can see I'm back to my studying like there's no tomorrow. I'm struggling with it, after the big exam I kinda ran out of energy, but what a nail polish junkie's got to do, a nail polish junkie's got to do. I want to do some other posts too, I have them planned for weeks now, but I think I'll do them in the end of June or beginning of July. Anyway, I still hope you're enjoying your nail polish, I most certainly am!

Here's another one from my swap with Kris from My Lucid Bubble, it's also the only Burlesque polish I actually found interesting enough after seeing the swatches, with exception of Tease-y Does it, that's also a dupe of Raspbery Truffle by Nubar and thus I keep forggeting  it's a part of OPI Burlesque too. And it's really a totally cool colour, so it's great that I have it. When the word got out it's supposedly very close to Bad Fairy from MAC; that's sold out, of course, it got even more interesting.
Today I also played a bit with scotch tape and my beautiful Catrice Back To Black (i've found a back up bottle, yay!), and here's what I came up with.

I left this one larger, also because it shows the beautiful duochrome efect SMGO has.

Just The Show Must Go On. I layered it on my ring finger on Catrice Back To Black, otherwise it's alone (3 coats, two on ring finger).

Bottle shot MAC Bad Fairy vs. O.P.I. The Show Must Go On. All Lacquered up has them on nails here. Clearly not dupes.

The moment I decided I'll put SMGO on my nails Queen with Show Must Go On stuck to my head and didn't leave the entire day, even when I went to sleep I kept humming the song. Not that I mind, I *love* Queen! Today this evolved into I Want To Break Free, which is awesome, but also quite dangerous, as I began to sing it out loud (so sorry, Freddie!!) with a combination of spontaneous dance moves, when I actually get up from my chair and burst into loud humming, thus abusing the song to no recognition as I cannot sing a tune to save my life. But you gotta love Queen. :)

As mentioned before, The Show Must Go On is a part of O.P.I. Burlesque Collection for Holiday 2010, a collection that I really didn't get all hyped about like all the others did. For me it was a disappointment, back then a first in OPI series, that I'm now already used to. SMGO luckily did meet my expectations and I'm really happy I got it, especially since it's a bliss to apply it. Seriously, getting a polish that is that easy with application really puts me in a better mood. I usually prefer colours that aren't too easy to apply, but i don't mind that, due to the colour, so when something like SMGO comes along, I'm really happy about it. It's a three coater for me, but as you can see on my ring finger, two can also be enough, it's very opaque. And it dries extremely fast, I'm not wearing any TC, and even today it's perfect, with minimal tip wear.

I did my scotch tape design, as ever, with inspiration from Erika and her Chloe's Nails blog, that I'm sure you all know. I don't know where i picked up the pattern though ... I just thought it would look cool, and it does, IMO. I love the pattern and the contrast the two colours have.

Anything else? Don't think so. If you have any other questions, let me know. And do tell what do you think about the design, keeper or a bad idea?

SpaRitual - Epicurean

So, today I wanted to do a special "Barcelona is the winner" mani, but then I realized I suck at nail art and don't have time for full scotch tape mani. Oh well. Either way, Barca won yesterday, wiii! Since I can't do a nice nail art mani, I can at least show you my Barcelona scarf.

I bought it on Camp Nou, when I visited Barcelona. :) It was an awesome trip, I always wanted to go there, I even saw the team practice. That was back in the days of Rijkaard and Ronaldihno, but I have to say, I'm loving the team nowadays so much more, the whole bunch, Pep, Leo, Puyol, Iniesta, Xavi ... they have an awesome energy and their play is just beautiful. Oh, and before I forget: this is how my nails would look like if I could pull it off. It's a work from a new-to-me blogger called Uńas de Colores, and she does magic on her nails, I love it, but especially this Barca mani!! Gorgeous, I really admire what some of you can do on your nails!

Anyway! Here's another one from our Project Latvia box. Man, that was a long time ago. This is SpaRitual Epicurean, and it's my second favourite from Sparituals I've tried. Nothing can beat Mood.

This is one of the sexy colours for me. It's just sex in a bottle, it's incredibly hot, really rich burgundy red, with the famous glow withing effect, and lets not even mention how it looks on the sun, it just might kill me, so gorgeous. But it's amazing off the sun too, really a great colour. It felt like Nubar Torrid Red when I was wearing it, but Epicurean is more purple.

Aside from the really gorgeous colour, the Sparitual brush still gives me headache. If you're a regular reader, you know my longer, wider nails don't go well with their brush, that can also be seen on my not so good application. I needed three coats, but I think this is a two coater for those with smaller nails. It dries semi-fast, it can trick you, so be careful, if you're not wearing TC with it.

Because of colours like this I really hate that I don't go well with Sparitual brush. This colour is amazing, but I hate the brush so much, I would consider twice before buying it. Oh well. You can't have it all. At least the bottle looks really really nice.

I just can't get sick of colours like that. Can you? Your thoughts on Sparitual brush?

Oh, before I forget. It's back-to-hardcore-studying time, so I'll probably be off for a couple of days/weeks, as before. You know I'm keen to break that rule, but just so I let you know.

Thank you for reading & have a nice Sunday!
