Nail polish blogger Challenge day 2

Hello people! So the only pink week on Did Someone Say Nail Polish? has begun successfully. :) I hope you like my base colour! Today we continue with day 2. This idea isn't my best. I rather disliked it and it actually looked better IRL than on pictures. The inspiration I got from a certain Fashion Polish post, when she layered white crackle and blue polish and so created the image of clouds on the nails. It was totally gorgeous and fantastic and I said it should be the same with pink, no? Well, the problem was, I think, that Give Pink A Chance is a bit too well pigmented. Yes, it needs three coats, but not because it's sheer, it's because it won't even up on the nail. So the whiteness of the Crackle Glaze Lightning Bolt was completely covered, it only brightened the pink a bit. And added a funky texture, that was more prominent IRL on the nail. But let's see the pictures anway.

And the first, or rather the second step - one coat of Crackle Glaze over two coats of Give Pink A Chance.

It's an interesting mani, but I think it would look even better if the pink was a bit more sheer. With polish more sheer this is an awesome thing to do!

Thank you for reading and don't forget to check other ladies too!

Wibo 49 and 311

In one of my previous posts Elf asked me when will I show more Polish nail polish. And I thought to myself: "That's right! Where are all my Polish polish swatches??". I wore most of them already, so it's about damn time I show them to you (I did show you one after Elf asked me about it, but the superstars are yet to be shown!). Because there is not a dud in the package Sabbatha sent me. Polish polish is amazing. Yes, I do like that word play and shall use it a lot. Bear with me. ;)

Today I'm showing you two Wibos, the two I got and the two I absolutely adore. The colours are amazing, but the thing that impressed me the most is the brush. Oh. My. Gosh. The brush is perfect. Oh, you'll notice the bottles are different, so are the names. I'm guessing this is similar to Essence having multiple lines of polish, as it seems so does Wibo.

Let's start with Wibo Express Growth 49. It is the surprise part of the package and it's perfect. The colour reminds me of the perfect sea green, that I really wanted since forever. Most sea greens are too blue, this one isn't. It's gorgeous, really. And the golden specks make it even more perfect.
The perfection aside, it's really hard to photograph. I did so many pictures and videos and in the end only two are so good I am confident enough to call them colour accurate, but they lack the details of the polish. So the first two photos are lightbox and are still a tiny bit too blue. They already capture the colour nicely, but not the best. The second two pictures are the most colour accurate, but as you can see, the details get lost a bit. The video was meant to show you how the golden specks sparkle, but I think i should unfocus it to show it properly. Oh well.

Isn't it amazing? I love this colour, I really do. Plus the formula and the brush make this seriously one of the best polishes in my stash. Polish polish is good!

The second is Wibo Extreme Nails 311. I think I asked Sabbatha for this one in the last moment, when I saw how beautiful it is on her blog. I'm glad I did. Again, in my notes, the first thing I wrote down was: THIS BRUSH IS AWESOME! Yes, that's how awesome these brushes are. Don't think I'm crazy please, but I'm seriously surprised at the quality of these babies. And the colour is divine, bright blue with silver glass-flecks. Yummy!

I put the blue Depend crackle on Wibo later on, just because I love this colour combo.

It's a perfect summer colour, but I know I'll be wearing it during Winter too. This kind of colours always cheer me up in that dull grey winter mornings.

What do you think of Wibo and these two? Have you ever tried the brand? I do recommend it!

My two ultimate crackle combinations

Crackled-out, are ya? Yeah ... actually I still do a crackle mani if I think it will look good. Then again, when the crackle effect was the most popular this year I didn't really dive in as I thought I will. So perhaps that's why I still use it.
When I first heard of crackle effect these two combinations were the first to hit me. My favourite colour combination in clothes department too is black and red. That's the combination. So let's see this one first.

Elf asked me in one of my older posts when will I show any Polish nail polish. Well, since I always like when you give me an idea what to post I dug up my Polish polish swatches, and I have a lot to show you. Also lots of raving to do. These polishes are amazing.

Virtual by Joko Lady in Red, from collection Vinyl Mania was a perfect red for the base of my red-black crackle mani. From the moment I put on the first coat I knew this will be my favourite red creme in my stash. So bright, so sexy, so bold! That's a red I can wear!!

It's also so glossy I had troubles picking pictures that don't have half of our garden on my nails.

The black crackle I use is p2 Black Explosion:

Lady in Red is a beautiful one coater, I did two just because. The pigmentation is amazing. Amazing, seriously amazing brush too, the application is a complete perfection, seriously, why don't I read about worshiping the brand more often? It deserves a lot of love! The colour is amazing, I wanted to have this kind of red since I can remember, sexy, awesome, bright. Love it! I put then one coat of p2 on and I didn't get bored of my mani for whole 8 days - that was also why I did this mani, in thought of my fantasy vacation, I needed it themed and cool enough for a week without any nail polish change. :) Sabbatha, thank you for this one, it's perfect go-to red!

The second combination is a crazier one. Green and purple. I needed a vicious green and China Glaze Tree Hugger seemed perfect for the job (old post on it). I redid the swatches too, so a couple of them here.

Man, I loved this combination. I needed three coats on Tree Hugger and wasn't too happy about it, but hey, i *adore* this green. One coat of Depend 5005 over it and my poisonous combo was done. I loved it, wore if for a couple of days straight too. I have to do similar one with red crackle. This one was also inspired by Acetone and Old Lacquer, she did a similar one with two amazing polishes. But then again, her combinations are divine.

What's your perfect crackle combination? :)

Eyeko Lilac Polish with SH pink crackle Fuschia Shock

Hey everybody! How are you doing? I hope your week started better than mine. The weekend and the Monday were hell for me. I already calmed down quite a bit, but tell you the truth, it's been years since I broke down so completely, and all of this "just because" of schoolwork. There is still hope, though, and I'm taking it! I don't know about you guys, but my schoolwork is really important to me, that's why I always take everything so dramaticaly.

Today I wanted to show you two manis, but I don't think I'll find the time for both. I picked the one that is less "me". It's a soft purple polish with pink crackle. Yes, on Did Someone Say Nail Polish and on my nails. Things happen. ;) What is more, I absolutely loved the final result.
First, Eyeko Lilac Polish. This one is really soft, really really gentle colour. That's the feature I love about it. I tend to get bored of this kind of colour rather fast so I don't choose it often. But Lilac is fluffy and cozy and I like that. It's quite lovely, just as the label says.

I had the hardest time picking a colour when I wore this baby. I got two major swap packages and a few lemmings killed that week and I was choosing a polish for like half an hour (and no, didn't feel like wearing my old mani anymore). At that point I reached over the 15 bottles standing infront of me and grabbed the Eyeko.

I realized this would be a great base for some nail art. I got out the stamping kit ... and failed miserably. No, seriously. When I fail miserably, I seriously fail miserably. So I redid the nails I stamped and decided I'll go with good ol' scotch tape art. Mhmm ... yeah. Back then I was still in between fast drying TCs and I waited for 10 minutes max before putting a scotch tape on my relatively freshly painted nails. Fail? Indeed it was! I pulled up the polish and had to remove it completely off my ring finger. Of course I messed up a couple more with polish remover and cotton pad. In the end I used up a little under half the bottle of Lilac Polish. I'm not effing kidding. It was disasterous. So, what do you do when everything else fails? That's right. You layer the thing! And I did. I chose the Sally Hansen Fuschia Shock crackle that was sitting on my table and this is what came out.

Again, I loved the way it cracked better on my right hand. That always happens, I have no idea why. Anyway. I love the combination! It goes from gentle and cozy to girl-ishy funky. It's also something completely different for my nails and sometimes it just feels refreshing to look at my nails and say "oh, look, that's something out of the ordinary and still cool". I think I actually wore this for two or three days, which is like a millenia for me.

Eyeko Lilac Polish needed two coats on my shorter nails. The brush isn't my favourite, it's a bit wonky, but polish dries fast and glossy. Sally Hansen F.S. behaved nicely, better than her blue brother. I wasn't sure how I'll like the pink crackle, but I really do. Just as the white crackle isn't me and I love it, the pink one isn't me and I love it.

That's it. Hope I didn't bore you too much. What do you think of them both? Did you get the Lilac polish from Eyeko sale? Sick of crackles much?

Welcome to Slovenia, Depend! *hugs the Depend counter*

It's been almost two weeks since the first notice of Depend in SLO came to me (and I'm guessing to the general nail polish population in Slovenia). There was no rumors about it, not a whisper, nothing. One day I was having coffee with Kaneli and she said she saw the counter of Depend in our local DMs. Needless to say I almost fell off the chair. Depend! In Slovenia?! Holy crap!! I love Depend so so much and now Depend came here? I can buy my bottles like 5 minute walk away from where I'm sitting right now typing this away? I must say, I'm extremely happy about it. What is more, they cost almost half the Scandinavian price, with 1.70€ for regular polish and 2.10 for crackles.

Naturally I had to buy one, just so I can say I bought one in Slovenia, I picked the purple crackle, since I regreted not ordering it from Finland months ago. Right now the counters are pretty empty, girls are buying them in big numbers. I'm happy about that, since that also means Depend will stick. And what's not to love, anyway? The colours are awesome, brush is great, formula can be a bit tricky, but completely managable. All for 1.70 €.

You all know my favourite source for Depend is also one of my favourite blogs evah, Alizarine Claws, but just because my colleciton of Depends isn't so small, I'm giving you some more in this post too. Three are missing, I still haven't worn them, bad Ulmiel! 221 wasn't shown on the blog yet, so there's a new one too! With crackle effect on top.

 221. Photshooting of this beauty is a bit tricky, usually the pictures came out way too blue. It has a little bit of green in it too, this is the best I could do. The application was excellent, it needed two coats only.

Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat called Distressed Denim. Yes, you see me doing bright-dark blue crackle combination way too often, I know. But I love it. And this crackle is awesome because when you add TC, it gets very jelly-like finish. Love!

And now those that you've already seen, but I want to show them again. Some swatches are horrible to me now, rookie. And sometimes my nail shape is just WTF. o.o

Blue Crackle, 5002, my favourite crackle in the world, with or without TC (below you can see the magical shimmer it contains). Upper picture with Brucci Giana's Rockin' Blue, below with Wibo 311.

Sadly discontinued, but too beautiful not to be mentioned. 170

209, interesting colour, horrible nail shape.

 225. The worst formula I've met with Depend.

 19. Classic red, bit boring to me.

 204. Gorgeous one, especially on the sun.

 228. One of my favourites.

 249. Again, one of my favourites. :)

The red crackle, 5004. Not the best combination, I know. Still, crackle is a great one. Base is Essence Forget-me-not.

Like I said, I love Depend. The formula can be a bit tricky sometimes, but even if it is, it's completely managable and most of the time it's just fine. I've heard about some drying problems with Depend. I've never, not once, encounter them. Fast drying TC anyone? With TC Depend behaves nice, even if there is slow drying present in the formula. All in all I can only recommend Depend.

I still have three more to show you, if you count the purple crackle. But I think you had enough. :)
Do you have any Depend bottles, what are you experiences with them? My Slovene ladies, did you grab your bottles in the first wave or are you waiting for the second round? :)

Essence - My Yellow Fellow + p2 crackle

Evening everyone! Hope you had a nice weekend! I had to study my butt off, but I was with my BF, away from all computers, TVs and so on, so I actually studied more than ever, with more pleasant surroundings and a very nice company that even cooked for me. :) Now I'm back, and I feel like chatting about polish.

This one is older, my nails grew quite long and snaped back to this lenght in all this time. I haven't picked this one up for me, but then tried it at home and loved it so now it's mine (with the premission of the nail polish junkie that ordered it from me, of course ;)). Me, liking yellow? Yes! I guess there are no limits now anymore! The application was less than nice, but from what I've read on other blogs, yellow doesn't get on the nail easily in principle.

Later on I put the black crackle on, getting the ultimate contrasting combination. I've already shown you this one before, now with TC over  p2 Black Explosion and without.

My Yellow Fellow needed fout coats to even up at least a bit and still on some fingers it was an utter disgrace. I love the brush on Blossoms etc. LE, it's flat and wide but it didn't help with this little diva. It just wouldn't even up on the nails. Oh well. Can't say I didn't expect some sort of troubles, since a well-behaved yellow is a constant lemming of yellow-polish lovers.
Still, surprisingly I looooved the colour on me! It is so damn bright, but I still loved it! Very springy, perhaps that's why. :) It's probably not a colour I'd feel like wearing very often, but when I wore it this time, I felt awesome wearing it. :) One regret though - the awesome shimmer that the bottle promises is visible on the nail only on direct sunlight, as my 'off direct sunlight' photos show.

One coat of p2 Black Explosion crackle polish over, a day later, I think. I like how p2 crackles, luckily I don't have the need to buy Black Shatter from OPI. :)

What do you think about My Yellow Fellow and the combination? Did you get any of the colours from Blossoms etc. LE?

Depend red crackle (5004) + accent play with blue one

I hate the title, but I can't come up with a better one. I'm tired (which is also noticable by all the grammar mistakes and typos I've already discovered after publishing the post, I apologize if I didn't correct some, I just can't seem to see them :S), I had two exams today, but it went well, so yay me!! When I got home a package of polish awaited me aaaand the package was so perfect I can't even describe it! I'll tell more about it some other time, because I decided I'll do a themed Zoya post, but I know this for sure: I have *the* best swapping buddy ever! Thanks, Kris!! So a great day, I'd say. :) Right now I have some time and decided I'll show you another Depend crackle. It's the red one, and it's not the combination I suspect will be perfect for the red combination, but Essence Forget-me-not seemed like a good candidate too.

See how the crackle dragged the Essence so the bold spots showed up? I applied the crackle after a day of wearing Essence, so I'm absolutely sure it was dry! It's weird though. Perhaps because I didn't have any TC in between? Well, anyway ... what do you think about the combination? I'm not entirely sure about it. I prefer it with blue one, that's on my ring finger. But it doesn't look too bad with the red one too. I must try my ultimate combination with this one! I hope it will be as awesome as I think it will be. :D

This was of course one coat of Depend red crackle and I've already talked about how much I love Depend crackles. They crack perfectly and apply great. I didn't use any top coat.

What's you favourite crackle combination?

Breaking the rules

Heeey darlings! I miss you just so effing much I'm breaking my own rules and typing this away to say 'hi'. Welcome, new people, and thank you all for such lovely comments you've been sending me, I love reading them, they really make my day. I honestly didn't think I'd miss blogging so much. I mean, don't get me wrong, I have great fun blogging, reading other blogs, interacting with you lovely people, but that I'll miss it this much? I didn't think I would.

I'm still very diligently taking pictures of my manis, of course buying polish (although I'm still officially on no-buy, hah) and just thinking about what I'll write on the blog once I'll have the time. I already have two themes, one is already promised Eveline Holografic Shine week, the other, thanks to my wonderful nail polish guru Tevta that bought me the polish on her trip to Italy, a Kiko week. Preview pics!

With Kikos I'm making some comparisons too and the white one seems like a very good substitute for competely sold out White Cap that I crave. :) Yay!

Oh, just to let you know - new Essence and Catrice polishes will be down to a minimum here at DSSNP. Why? Not because I wouldn't want them, because some colours just effing ROCK, but because I'm, like mentioned before, supposedly on a no-buy deal with myself ... no-buy deal kinda looks like the new Kikos I got, 4 packages I'm currently expecting, around 5 polishes bought on my way home in the last two weeks and one third of my stash still untried. So not really a no-buy deal, wouldn't you say? Well, unless you're like me in a very strong denial and don't count swapping as buying nail polish. Because I buy it for someone else, right? Right? Right?? AND every nail polish junkie knows that you just *have* to buy LE polish, if you like the colour. Because it's LE, it won't be there anymore few months later! *sigh* There is no end for me. I'm getting the dragon laying on its heap of polish mental picture here again ..:)

Seriously though, the only thing that bugs me (because I love swapping and buying nail polish, so I don't really have a bad conscience here, I just pretend to have it) is my heap of untrieds. That I'd really like to go through by the end of study period. Right now I'm changing colours almost every day, it's such a nice break from studying, polish remover fumes mixed with B3F fumes, aaah ...

So as you can see, I'm alive, studying as much as I can and totally not forgetting about nail polish or you! And here is a manicure for Nail crazy, because she made me smile on a very bad day with her comment saying she's missing my nails. :) Picture holds a certain milestone for me too - I wore yellow for the first time. And I effing loved it. Yellow is on!

Essence Yellow Fellow with p2 Black Explosion crackle. Is it just me or something is wrong with blogger pics? It looks sharp on my computer, but here it's somewhat blurry ...

Untill next time, keep your fingers crossed for me, big exams next week!
*muah*

Depend blue crackle (5002) over Brucci&CND

Hey people. How are you doing? I'm sorry, darlings, but my study schedule doesn't allow me to post every day anymore, as you probably noticed. It will be more like three times a week, probably, unless I'll find time, and if I don't, then even less. Right now I am concentrating on my studies, trying to pass as many exames as I can and blogging does take some time, if you do it every day, especially if you then read half of nail blogsphere with it. ;) So bear with me for this couple of monts, it's going to be a hard period of time for me. But anyway! It doesn't mean I've stopped polishing my nails, hah! I have tons of stuff to show you already, because it's a really nice break for me to do my mani and, you know, just to take my mind of books, it's very relaxing for me, that's why sometimes happens that I change my mani more often in study time. Go figure.

Today I have for you the blue Depend crackle. I put it over Gianna's Rocking Blue with CND Emerald Shimmer, and I think it's one of the best combinations I could do with this one. I loved it, wore it for a couple of days too. Depend really nailed it with this shade of crackle, it's fantastic. As you'll see, even if the instructions say add TC, I haven't, I loved the matte over shimmery base. Well, it's not 100% matte, as it has the sparkle in it. Sparkly blue! I added TC later on on one finger, and the sparkles really come alive then. But I liked this look too, so I let it be.

I think Depend crackles the best out of all the crackles out there. The cracks are big and the patterns awesome. I love it, absolutely fantastic crackle, and this colour is my by far favourite of the crackle colours. I've mostly gotten over the whole crackle phase, to tell you the truth, I don't even feel like getting the mint Crackle Glaze anymore. I mean, I wouldn't mind having it, but even if I don't, no biggie. But this combination, now that's beyond awesome. I also love the red crackle done by Depend, I just dont' have time to do the combination I had in mind to show you. I will, eventually. :)
But yes, like I said, I loved this one. Even my mother liked it, and she doesn't like 85% of polish I wear, and this really isn't something she'd usually like (she hated Gianna's Rockin' Blue alone too ;)).

Loved the combination. What about you? Still love the crackling or are you already cooling off? :)

Thank you for reading!
