Blog under construction

Hey darlings,

just a quick notice, I am trying out new layouts for blog, because I am utterly sick of the last greenleaf-y one, not just visually but there also some settings that I disliked for a while now, and it is time they went. So if you see Did someone say nail polish? in million different layouts with some tabs missing etc. in the next week or so, that's the reason behind it. :) I will still post in the meantime, so stay tuned and patient with me. :)

PS: If you really liked any of them, when you see it, do let me know it is easy on the eye! :)

SpaRitual - Sacred Ground and a short break

Hello my dear people! It's been 10 days again since I've posted something and even that one was a scheduled post so it's been even longer since i've actually been blogging or checking your wonderful works of art you're doing with the varnish and the nail. My older (and regular) readers probably know this from last year, May and June are months when I really need to shift into fifth gear when it comes to studying. This year the stakes are even higher, thanks to my ambition to get the highest marks and the fact that I'll be leaving for Spain in the middle of June for one week. Thus I have to pass the planned exams before I departure.

The stress has hit my nails too and twice now I had to cut them completely off, right to the meat. It hurts like hell for three days, even doing just simple work with your hands. You understand what I'm talking about. But most importantly, with all the work and other stuff in my life, I'm neglecting my nails. Not proud of it, but hey, it happens. That's why I'll do what I planned (and kinda succeeded) to do last year during this time of year. I'm taking a short break from blogging. A couple of weeks, I dare say, with dropping in every once in a while. Somewhat like my blogging is now, but now i'm making it 'official', if you will. If I'll have a spare moment to edit the billion photos I have and write about it, I'll definitively do that - like today, as I'm resting from the exam I had in the morning. I'm also hoping to post a couple of guest posts, if all will go as planned.

But until then, I want to show you another beauty. My first SpaRitual! Yes, I've shown you a couple, but they weren't mine, but this baby is! And it's beautiful! And so cute, a mini bottle, argh, adorable!

SpaRitual's brush isn't in my good books. Usually I had problems with the application. Here, on my shorter nails I didn't, the application was a breeze, actually. I guess my longer nails gave it troubles. Or I just got better at applying nail polish? Anyway. This was three coats of the beautiful, complex polish Sacred Ground is. Just look at all the details. Amazing, I love it. It's also a part of a rather strong collection, SpaRitual Wilde Collection for fall 2011. With quick glance over the swatches I wouldn't say no to another three shades! But Sacred Ground is by far the best in the collection. I love it.

Any thoughts on this SpaRitual baby? Do you have it?

Have a great next couple of weeks and if you're studying too - may it be successful!

Thank you for reading and commenting!

OMG! Polish 'em Anniversary Contest

Hey people! How is your first day of the week turning out to be? Mine ... quite interesting! I'm glad I could sleep a little longer today, I'm not a morning person. ;)

Here's something I'd really like to spread the word about because I think it's effing fantastic and from what Salla tells us, is not getting enough love! She's making this awesome contest for one year of her blog OMG! Polish 'em that is themed 1980's music!
She divided the prizes to 'rock' and 'pop' sections, so all can have their pick! And the prizes are unbelievable too, from Gosh Holographic to Nubar Petunia Sparkle! And I know we have loads of nail polish fanatics that just rock the nail art, all you need to give them is a theme! And I know everyone knows at least one 80's song that they love!

I already have my song and idea, I just need to put it on my nails (and Lord of the Rings, let it look at least a bit like it does in my mind!) and send it. I hope you will too!

Here's the link to direct post on the contest: click me! The deadline is 28th of October!

What do you think? Do you like the theme? I love it!

Thank you for reading, nails coming up soon!

A short poll

Heya again! Well, the poll very much speaks for itself, but I want to tell you why I made it. I did two themed weeks so far, the red comparison and Eveline Holografic Shine. I have one half prepared and I have a chance to do two others. The thing is, both times I got the feeling you weren't interested much in the themed weeks. Maybe you just prefer the random posts, as I feel posting it and get overfed with one brand or colour going on for entire week (or sometimes even longer). Since these themed weeks do require more time and work from me than the usual random mani posts, especially the comparison week, and since I usually get a bit sick of doing one brand or colour over and over again, i do not wish to bore you. :) So i did a smal poll, the best way I could do. You can be completely honest here, it's anonymous, you can tell me it's utter crap and I should stop doing it too. Of course also in the comments. :) But then tell me also why it's utter crap, please! ;)

It will take you like 25 seconds to do this, unless you write something down for me too, which will make me a very happy hobbit too! :)

Thank you!

Best Blog Award

This post is long overdue, I promised to post it to Pink_Diamond few weeks ago. She is a lovely Slovene blogger, I suggest you click on the blog. It's fun and personal and very interesting. :)

The rules for this one are:
- Link back to the person who passed you the award
- Complete the form below
- Share 7 random things about yourself
- Award 10 blogs
- Drop them a line and tell them about it

Name your favorite color:
Green, black.
Name your favorite song:
I can't name just one, it also changes quite a bit. At this moment Primordial Gods To The Godless, The Coffin Ships, The Mouth of Judas, then Blind Guardian The Curse Of Feanor and Bright Eyes, Destroyer 666 The Tyranny of Inevitable. I cannot get sick of them, I usually listen this combo when I'm jogging.

Name your favorite dessert:
I have a giant sweet-fang, I love all sweets. My favourite would be a good cake and ice cream.

What makes you mad?
Stupidity and cruelty. Does that make a lot of people? Also if I have to say one thing too many times or if i mess up fresh mani with silly thing like bumping into chair or something.

When you’re upset you… :
usually talk really really loud and regret it later because it hits the first person that's close to me, most of the time my mother or my boyfriend and they are rarely the cause of why i'm upset. I can also sulk, which sucks, because it's the most deconstructive thing you can do.

Your favorite pet?
I don't have one to my great regret, but I love animals; cats, dogs, birds etc.

Black or white?
Black.
Your biggest fear is?
Death of my beloved. I think that when it comes to the core of real fear, that's the only thing i trully fear, that i'd lose my beloved ones.

Your best feature is?
I can eat whole box of Domaćica in an hour. Yeps. Seriously, no idea, I hate questions like that, these are for others to answer about me.

Everyday attitude:
"All we have to decide is what to do with time given to us." Also trying to think positively, although my never ending sarcasm can hide that pretty well. ;)

What is perfection?
Perfection for me is when you accept that everything has its flaws and you love the flaws as well. :) But random thoughts for me: Middle-earth. Ocean. Awesome concert. Not too hot, not too cold, slightly windy day with the scent of rain in the air. That certain look my BF can give me. Nfu Oh 56. Clarins 230. Illamasqua Hectic. Ukbeauty Pearl eyeliner ... ok, now it'm streching it a bit, eh? :)

Guilty Pleasure:
Sweets. Lots of them. Nail varnish. Lots of it.

Now i have to share another 7 random things about me. Wow. Lots of work. for one award. ;)
  1. I'm really hungry right now.
  2. It's 1.35 a.m., I'm not sleepy one bit and I'm looking forward to another episode of Battlestar Galactica after I finish this.
  3. Today I killed two major lemmings in Nubar department, Reclaim and Prevail.
  4. I wear glasses all the time, except when I'm sleeping or wearing contact lenses. :P
  5. I love yoghurt.
  6. As a child I had a speaking disorder but the nice doctor fixed that for me.
  7. My hair are back to it's natural brown colour after almost a decade of dark red, bright red, orange, violet, dark purple, black, blueish black and dark brown colours.

I tag:
Alizarine Claws
Parokeets
Biba's Beauty Corner
Nail Crazy
Annie's Colors
Spooky Nails
My Lucid Bubble
Lendoxia

... and all of you who wish to do this one. It's fun!

Top 10 award

Hey darlings. How are you? I'm really tired, I had a night of seriously weird and vivid dreams, like I usually have in my study period, being stressed out and all, but this night it was ... weird even for me. So I'm a bit slow today, walking around like I have a hangover, which i don't, I haven't drunk much yesterday. :P Right now I want to do an award I was given and haven't done before. I got a few awards in past couple of weeks, but most of them I've already done on my blog. Doesn't mean I don't appreciate them, when you link me for an award that means you actually consider my blog worthy of mentioning on your blog, and that is a compliment for me, a major one!

Top 10 award was given to me by Ina from My Nail Polish Online blog. Check her out! She has a very original way of posting swatches, which I really like!

Here are the rules:

-Link back to the person who tagged you
-Pick 10 other bloggers to give this award to
-List your favorite 10 products

10 bloggers I link:
These are all bloggers that I regularly read, every day really, so defintively one of my favourites, along with a couple more, but I kept to the limit of 10 bloggers. Really great bloggers with great blogs, so I do recommend you click on the links for more if you don't know them yet.

Ok, my 10 favourite products ... I will keep in my make-up department. I'm sure every single one of you knows otherwise my 10 favourite products do include my toothbrush, a toothpaste, shower gel, my face cleanser, daily creme, sunscreen, make up remover, nail polish remover and so on and so forth? I thought that list would be a tad bit boring so I decided to to my 10 favourite make up products I'm raving about for the last few weeks or even months.

In no particular order:
  • Nail polish. Any colour i feel like wearing. I didn't have naked finger- or toenails for like two years or something like that. So you won't catch me without nail polish on my fingernails, unless I'm just about to put a new colour on them.
  • Nfu Oh Base Coat. What a discovery. I just don't polish my nails without it anymore.
  • Lily Lolo: Ripe Plum mineral eyeshadow. I absolutely adore this one.
  • Overall Beauty: Dust Bunny mineral eyeshadow. Since I tried it for the first time, I can't do a make up when I go out without including this baby. It's so insanely gorgeous, thanks a million for this one, Holly!
  • Bourjois Smokey Eyes Trio: Gris Dandy. The set for black smokey eyes for me. I wear black smokey eyes quite often when I go out at night, since I love strong eye make up. I usually add something more to it, another colour perhaps or something, when I'm playing around, but this is the base every time.
  • Bourjois Healthy mix Correcting Concealer. Magic stuff, I used to have one for purple tea-bags under my eyes and another for the rest of my face, but this one covers them all.
  • Bourjois Sweet Kiss Naturelle lipstick in 07 Framboise Exqusie. I'm a big fan of strong red lipstick, but this one is my everyday lipstick for college and also a safe combination with a very strong eye make up I usually do, so it's by far my most used lipstick.
  • Bourjois Levres Contour, lip liner number 11. Goes perfectly with F. E. lipstick, so ...
  • ArtDeco All in One Mascara. I tried many mascaras, but I always return to this one.
  • ArtDeco Eyeshadow Base. This product was revolutionary for me. I can wear eyeshadow for hours and it won't go all pale or hide into my crease? No kidding! So it's the fountation for my eyelook.
Hope that wasn't too boring. :) Again, thanks to Ina for giving me the award, it was fun writing it! Hope all of you who I linked will participate. :D

And thank you all for reading!

Finger Paints - Hue Rang?

Evening people! How are you doing? Hope you had a nice Sunday and wonderful weekend. Me ... I had a very hard weekend, speaking emotionally. So my studies are on hold this weekend. I'm just so tired from the shocks and stress. I'll have to be extra good next week! But you don't come here to get troubled with my whining, so lets go to the nail polish!
Maybe you've already noticed, I added another little thingie on Did someone say nail polish? - a lil' window I call 'ATM mani'. I don't know how useful or interesting or fun you find that, but I decided to put it on mainly because I actually feel good if I wear a colour more than once and I realized in the pass few days I'm neglecting some really wonderful colours in my stash and I'd love to wear them more often, yet I do not wish to post same pictures of manicures on my blog. That's why I'll post it on the right side, if you find it interesting enough or find the colour good and wish to read more about it, you can always click on the picture and read about the polish.  :)

But to todays post. Another one from MLB swap, again a polish label I've tried for the first time. Finger Paints (that have a very cute collection coming out, I'd say from the promo pics!), a greyed purple, last picture also with Wet'n'wild Cheers on  my ring finger and a proof of how much did Hue Rang? bubble.

All pictures are natural light, without TC. The first three were taken right after applying the polish so the surface is nice and smooth. The last one was taken the next day, I did a quick shot, because I was curious about Cheers combination. Hue Rang? started bubbling around 15 minutes after applying it and I have no idea why. The amount of bubbling is incredible, seriously hardcore bubbling, you know, not just a bubble here and there. I'm thinking I did the last layer to thick or something? I'll give it another chance some time later, since I really like the colour. It's milka colour, but because of the fine silver shimmer it looks greyed out. Or silvered out? I don't know, either way it looks greyed out to me and I love it. It wasn't hard to apply or anything, I'm putting Finger Paints on my radar as a good brand, if I'll get it to apply without bubbling anyway. Maybe it's just this colour, I don't know. I wish it hasn't bubbled, like I said, I think the colour is lovely.

This was two coats, brush is nice, but the polish is rather thick - that's why I'm thinking my second layer was to thick, hence the bubbling. But suprisingly this one dried extremely fast, like really. After I already thought it's dry, the bubbling started.

What do you think about the colour? How do you cope with bubbles on your polish? Remove it, put TC on it, or ignore it? What do you think about my ATM mani window, yey or ney?

Thank you for reading!

Handwriting Tag

Hello people! How are you doing? As I'm editing my todays manicure, that just may be my last, since I don't want to remove it EVER, I'll post a scan of my handwrite. I was tagged by Colorful bottle and since I'm late for this party, I taged only a few. But if you think it's fun, do it! Because it is fun! :)

Ok, this scan looks really shitty, forgive me. This is what you have to write:

1. What is your name? And your blog name?
2. Blog URL
3. Write: the brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
4. Favourite quote
5. Favourite song
6. Favourite band/singers
7. Say anything you want
8. Pass it along to a few bloggers

And that's it! Have fun with it! :)

Now also on bloglovin'

Hello guys! Yesterday Tevta pointed out to me that my blog showed up on bloglovin'. Since I had no idea what bloglovin' actually is, I rushed to see what was all about, and after searching through the site I still needed confirmation that everyone there still knows it's me. So I wrote an email to AmyGrace from The Polished Perfectionist ( i noticed bloglovin' badge on her site) and she was a sweetheart and explained everything to me. Thank you again! :) So here's the link: Follow my blog with bloglovin so if you're using bloglovin' you can read me there from now on. :)

Illamasqua is next!

Another Depend colour and GFC problem solved

Hey everybody! How are you doing? I'm enjoying my cup of coffee before I start studying and quite frankly, I'm having trouble finding the will to go to my study desk. I don't really know why, usually I do study if I know I have to but today I'm just not into it. Humpf. I hope I'll get to it, otherwise it will be hell until middle of February.

In other news - welcome everybody! I hope I'll find all the new bloggers in the bunch, forgive me if I don't because lots of you joined in when I didn't have time to browse and then my GFC went all crazy. Speaking of which - my BF solved the problem yesterday. It was really chaos and at one point I got in a really bad mood because of it, but in the end it was working and it still does. Hope it lasts. If any of you have the same problem - I described it here - all you have to do is, when the GFC window opens click 'More options' button  (next to follow button) and there you should see, next to the display picture, info that claims it's using your blogger account and you also have the option of more profiles. Click on that and then 'unlink' the blogger profile. Then it should be working. At least it does for me. I'm sorry for a bad description, but yesterday I didn't think of print screen, as in the end he just improvised and all of the sudden it started to work. You may have to fill the form with your data. I know we did that at some point, and now I'm not sure whether this was an important step or not. :S You know, your nickname, profile image, link to the blog, if you have it. When I went checking on other blogs what data they have on my profile, everything looked normal. And now i do have the B from blogger when i follow new blogs. So basically, it's a mistery for me, but since it seems to be working, I won't dig too much into it. I hope this helps, or at least makes sense. Kinda. :S
But now to my last Depend. This is number three out of three that belong to me and it's called 209.

I left this one abnormally large (i don't think I ever posted pictures this large untill now) in hope you'll see at least a bit of details on this polish, because most of the time I failed to capture it. :( If you think you may have seen a blue sparkle here and there, I can promise you, it's there and there are many of them!

A couple of these pictures are left quite big, because I'm greatly frustrated by the fact I'm not showing you this colour's beauty as it should be. Most of the time on the pictures it looks pruplish with pink shimmer. But Depend 209 also contains silver specks of glitter and, most importantly, blue glitter that makes this polish quite unusual. The finish itself it's glass flecked ergo I adore it. The colour itself was a bit hard for me to figure out. Sometimes it looked very on the dark pink side, sometimes it was reddish purple, sometimes just soft purple with pink shimmer ... and the blue came out every once in a while and the silver too. So most of the time I was like: if I had to sort stash by colour, where the hell should I put you??

The application was tricky. Kaneli warned me about shimmery Depend, so I was kinda prepared, but still I wasn't too happy about the trouble it gave me. You can see the not-so-good result on my index finger the most. It was kinda goopy, not so simple to apply on the nail evenly so it doesn't look too hot around my cuticles and it tends to shrink at the end of the nail line, so wrapping is a good idea. I have three coats on, except on my middle finger, where I put only two and I think I can call this one a two coater. I'd prefer to put two coats anyway, because the coats are rather thick thanks to the polish structure and the third coat can give you thick nails, which I really don't like. I put SV on top because of the descirbed troubles, otherwise my mani would be ruined in a matter of minutes.

I must say I like this colour, I really do. It's special in my book. But also not easy to work with, sorry to say. The removal of it is a whole new level of PITA, because the silver flecks stick to your nail and even foil removal can leave you with extra work.

What do you think about Depend 209?

Thank you for reading!

Problem with following other blogs

Hey guys. Just a quick question. I have a problem with following other blogs. I took a few minutes to check newcomers on my blog and wanted to follow but it makes me as an anonymous follower, no nickname and no picture. I went through my blogger profile and refreshed it and still nothing happened.

Has anyone else had the same problem? It kinda sucks, because I want to follow publicly and I have no idea what changed from the last time I hit the 'follow' button. :S

Thanks for the help!

Blog awards

Hello my darlings! How are you doing? I'm posting this fast, I don't have much time, I'm afraid, although I had a comparison prepared for you today, I'm not sure I'll be able to post it. As my exames draw near, I may post every other day or so. I have comparsions and swatches already prepared, so it might won't be noticed, but right now I'm in a tight spot with time. Although I must admit, blogging is a huge nerves balm for me. :)

I recieved two awards lately, first is from Mina, she has gorgeous nails, you should check her blog out, if you haven't already, and the award appearantly has no name, its just for small and nearly unknown blogs. Which I think it's great, because then you can spread the word, as some of them really are gorgeous and super fun.

The rules:
Post about this award and copy the rules. Link the person that had tagged you. Choose 3 - 5 Blogs you would like to tag and link them too. Leave them a comment on their blog that you've linked them.
Important: This award is for unknown blogs, so don't tag some 3000-Reader-Blogs! :)
My blogroll is getting obscenely long. There is by far too many excellent blogs, well known and still in the making, and I'll try to tag those that I haven't before:

  • Mateja's Beauty Blog - she's a Slovene blogger that posts great swatches of make up that is available in Slovenia. Which is a totally awesome thing, I must say, because I'm usually drooling over American blogs about stuff I know I can't get at all. ;)
  • Sanje so večne - great blog with great swatches!
  • Nail Crazy - Another nail blog, with super cute nails and great writings.
  • Polish Chest - totally awesome blog, that is helping me greatly with my knowledge of German languange. Danny's nails are gorgeous and so are the swatches.
  • Once Bitten - Great nails, great new blogger, check her out!
I think these are really worth checking out, all the girls are making super great swatches and their blogs are super fun. :)

***

The second award I got now from five co-bloggers: Mina (Mina's Blog), Danny (Polish Chest), KrisInPhilly (My Lucid Bubble), Lindsay (Yacking About Lacquer) and OnceBitten (Once Bitten). These are all really awesome bloggers and it's an honour to be tagged by them! If you haven't checked them out, you really should.

The rules for this award: 1. Thank and link the person who gave you this award. 2. Share 7 things about yourself. 3. Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers. 4. Contact these bloggers to tell them about this award.

7 facts about me:
1. I adore the ocean, lakes, rivers, really any water. And forests.
2. I'm quite impatient.
3. I love my music laud and hard.
4. I'm dancing for 6th year now and I still feel sick when going on stage.
5. I'm a giant kid. I love cartoons and stuffed animal toys. I got my heart broken when I couldn't afford a Krtek toy in Prague, being so expensive. :(
6. My nails are divas. You have no idea how strict the rules are for taking care of them.
7. My other love in MU department is eyeshadows. I love eye MU.

Here it goes, I'll award as many bloggers I can think of, but don't expect me to stick to the number. If I don't contact you in next few days, please excuse me. But since I love commeting the blogs I'm visiting, you'll get the notice, I hope.

That's all from me now guys. Truth be told, I'm having hard time pointing certain blogs out, because I love all of them that are on my blogroll and those that I only have in google reader because I forget to refresh my blogroll. I read a lot of nail/beauty blogs, maybe not every day, since there is a lot of them, but I get around them in a week. And I think you all deserve the awards, otherwise I wouldn't be reading you. :)

Thank you for reading!

My top 5 of 2010

Hey people. Me again. I'm getting this out in the last moments, I'm about to hit the showers and tomorrow I'm gonna have a hectic day, preparing for NY party, so i better write it down now. Jette Fromm tagged me with my top 5 of 2010, check her top 5 too! :)

Here it is, for 5th to first place. I payed attention about this being all 2010 collections, although I discovered this year some of really the best polish ever, from previous collections.

5. I had to do a tie, I'm sorry. MAC Bad Fairy  from Venomous Villains is one baddass polish, and I can't choose between her and Orly's Meet Me Under The Mistletoe from Orly's Holiday Collection. So they share the fifth place. And this is by far the best I could do to shrink the number. ;)

4. O.P.I. Nevermore from Go Goth! Halloween Collection. I cheated, I know, it's actually Ink, but it did came out this year! :P

3. Violet Sparkle from Nubar Sparkle Collection for Spring 2010.

2. Verde from Nubar Venetian Glass Fall Collection 2010.

1. And, of course, you probably saw this one coming. From the Cosmic FX Orly's 2010 Fall Collection, Space Cadet!

This is it. It was hard for me to choose, even in this year my crushes were also Who The Shrek Are You?, Halley's Comet, Fire Sparkle and so on. And some of my biggest lemmings come from this year, but I just didn't have the opportunity or/and money to buy them. Like quite a few bottles from BB Couture's Ladybug collection and Infamous Lovers, where I want like entire set. :)
One thing did surprise me. No China Glaze in my top 5? What? I worship China Glaze, right now it's my number 1 brand, from all the gems I discovered lately! But I have to admit, their collection from this year weren't my cup of tea, with the exception of the Holiday collection, where I still have three polishes to try out, and I do suspect Jolly Holly would have made it to the list.

Saying all this, I must mention a few of my biggest crushes this year, that are found in earlier collections, but I discovered them in this one. In no particular order:
China Glaze: DV8, Watermelon Rind, Wagon Trail. (2009 OMG, 2009 Summer Days, 2008 Rodeo Diva)
Kinetics: Magnificent (2008 Pure Elegance)
O.P.I.: Yoga-ta Get This Blue, DS Glamour (2008 India, no collection that I know of)
SpaRitual: Mood (2008 Inspired)
Illamasqua: Rampage (I don't know when it was released, Scrangie first mentions it in may 2009)
Magnetic: Spectacular (Spect.) Stone (I don't think Magnetic gets out in collections)
Zoya: Rea, Suvi, Midori (both 2008 Downtown, 2009 Oh-La-La).

And bazillion more. I'm sure I forgot quite a few of them. But there you have it. A sneak peak into my nail polish favourites. :)

And now I must tag, haha! I tag Lalica, Biba, Nail Crazy, AmyGrace, Alluring_mum, Taya, Sonidlo and everybody else on my blogroll, because I'm tooootally curious about your top five! Come on! :) And if you're not a blogger or don't have time for posting it, write it down in the comments. :))

All that is left for me to do now, as I'm already typing this away on the last day of 2010, is that I wish you
a happy new year, may it be succesful, full of love, laughter and joy, may your expectations be reached and surpassed and let us all have the best nail polish year!

Thank you for reading, have a great new year's party!

7 Q, 7 A, 7 blogs

Hey! Nail crazy tagged me a couple of day ago for another game! And I always like to play, so here we go ...

7 things I have to do before I die:
- finish my studies
- see Dylan Moran and Eddie Izzard performing live
- get on my own
- work my belly into a flat little thing that is not right now
- see whales. lots of them, live and close
- read tons of books. i always feel i'm not reading enough
- visit all the countries on my list. Which is half of the world, I'd say

7 things I say all the time
- wrong! or that's so wrong!
- damn (not very polite, I know, but I never said I'm a lady :P)
- ja valda / means: yeah, suuure, with big pile of sarcasm
- kaj? / means what? because I either don't hear people talking to me or my mother is shouting something from other rooms in the house

- darling
- i'm hungry
- i'm going to do my nails now

China Glaze - Metallic Muse and blog awards

Hey again! I prepared myself a cup of very good white tea (I honestly don't know what I'm gonna do when I drink it all, I'll have to go back to Česká just to get my hands on their vast tea collection) and decided to post blog awards that I recieved and show you another old manicure with China Glaze.

Metallic Muse is a part of Khrome Collection for Fall/Winter 2009, I already showed you Robotika as a part of this collection, I still have Millenium in the shoebox. Again extremely well pigmented nail polish, it needs only one coat to be perfect, application is very easy, but one must pay attention to brush strokes, as they do get visible if you're not careful enough. Drying time is extremely fast, removing of the polish too easy, but because of just one coat and no top coat, Metallic Muse as Robotika didn't last long, just a good day, then I couldn't stand the tip wear anymore. I guess you could wear it two days, if you wouldn't do anything extreme with your hands, I couldn't, also because the metallic finish isn't really my thing.

 Outside

Inside shot.

Metallic Muse is greenish-silvery-bluish kinda shade, that I  acutally like, it's a cool colour. What I don't like very much is the finish. And the fact I can't apply this kind of polish very well, you can see brush strokes on my nails, not very flattering, is it?

And now to the blog awards!

Tevta's stash or where does the shoeboxing begin

Hey everyone! How are you on this sunny, yet windy day? I went for a jogging hour and the wind competed with me all the way, hope that doesn't result in a headache. :)
As you can see, I finally figured out how to make the extra pages on blog. Yes, I know, I'm an idiot, I couldn't find it when I started the blog. It's much nicer this way, especially my WL looked totally  too much on the right side of the blog page. Hope you like it!

And nooo, I didn't forget about posting Tevta's stash, I just always wanted to show you something else first. :) But now I've put the pictures together, so here it is. A lot of pictures (they are clickable), for a lot of nailpolish!

This is their home. It's already full, so she needs to find the second drawer or something.

Don't ask me about these bottles, I hardly recognize them. It's 2 Orlys, the rest are at my place, L.A. Girl in the top right corner, others are a mystery.

Aaaah, O.P.I.! I was shoeboxed with them already, but there are so many of them, I couldn't try all of them. Rescue Beauty Lounge on the right, gorgeous shades, I don't know where I found the strenght to return them, and bottom right Nfu-Oh. Upper right corner looks like MAC, but judging by the number of the bottles and if you look at them really closely, you can see that IT IS ILLAMASQUA! *faints*

Obviously Zoya on the left, I discovered some of my favourites in this bunch, like Midori, Rea and so on. Blue caps are *the* nail-polish, BB Couture!!! Right next to them Color Club, one of my favourite brands, and Essie. And one RBL, hehe. The golden caps could be Milani? Not sure.

Hm. Maybe S-he on the upper half? I know she has tons of them. Below mabye Catrice and Essence? And I'm thinking in the little boxes Joy and her frankens.

GOSH, P2, Deborah, I think, and tons of others.

This is her franken maker drawer, I'd say. Yes, she makes her own polish, she's THAT cool.

And this is the part that I have at home right now. All the China Glaze, 90% of Orlys, MAC and three others.

The reason why it's so hard to recognize some bottles (besides the fact that I simply don't know that many brands just by their bottle) is that she has lots of polish that she bought while travelling, and some are local brands.

It's like nail-polish heaven, isn't it? SO MUCH NAIL-POLISH!!! Aaaaaaa!!  Effing awesome!! This is the collection in one moment. You can't really keep track, it's alive, it's growing. Like right now, the entire Essence Metallics collection is missing, I have it at home for swatching, but forgot to take a picture. The drawer is already full,  I can't even imagine the number, luckily she keeps track, I can't tell you the exact number, but it's close to 600 right now. And you know what? During the weekend, or maybe in the beginning of the next week, this collection is gonna get a lot, and I mean ej lot-t-t bigger. But more about this when we get the package.

Don't you just forget to close your mouth watching this? I do. :)

Thanks for reading!

Blog awards

In Wagon Trail post I got a little note from Taya telling me about a great surprise - she gave me two blog awards, how cool is that? :) Her blog is called Sanje so večne (Dreams are eternal), you should check it out, it's great. :)

The awards are Sunshine Award and Happy 101.

The rules are:
1. Save the image above and post it on your own blog.
2. Pass the award on to 12 fellow bloggers.
3. Link the nominees.
4. Let nominees know they have won this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to the person you received this award from.

The rules are:
1. Post who gave you this award.
2. State 10 things you like.
3. Give this award to 10 other bloggers and notify them with a comment.

Ok, ten things I like, random, and not too emotional :):

- nail polish (you saw that coming, didn't you?)
- coffee
- good books (Auster, Kundera at the moment)
- music
- green colour
- high-heeled boots
- fact that I'll probably be in Prague three weeks from now
- jogging
- to laugh
- The Big Bang Theory

I don't like numbers in this sort of things, so I'll just list a couple of bloggers for both awards, disregarding the "10-12" obligation. :)
Biba
Lyra
Bonny
Ivy and Ioewe
Lalica
Kaneli
Fleur
AllYouDesire

Here it is. :) Thanks again, Taya!

Mini haul

And how have you been on this sunny day? I'm busy, but I'm gonna post the Space Cadet vs. Mean & Green comaprison today, because I can't stand Galaxy Girl/Formidable! on my nails. I was actually planning on posting the haul yesterday, but got so caught up in fixing the pictures in blogger I forgot about it.

My mini haul of the week:

Catrice - London Weather Forecast and It Blue My Mind. MNY is only a number: 761, and I has been on my WL for quite a while now, so yay! :) London one never seemed so awesome and I never got into all worshiping of the shade - i'm not a grey fan - but my nail-polish guru said I should try it, that it's a really cool colour. And basically she's never wrong about me liking a colour, so yeah, I have it now.

MNY 761 reminds me greatly of CG Guissed Up Green, I need to do a comparison between them.
And I'm only three Catrice colours away from owning all that I like in their collection. Until new ones come, at least. :)

Oh, and I changed the colour of the blog, what do you think? All the whiteness of it hurt my eyes yesterday, when I was staring at the monitor for an hour, I think this colour scheme is better. :) I left the leaves, because I'm hoping for Miss autumn to drop by as soon as possible, our forest still looks too green for an end of September. :)

Oh no, not another one!

Well, here it is, yet another nail-polish-fanatic claims a bit of internet for showing her nails and seeking understanding from other nail polish freaks that DO know what am i talking about when i say "You know, it looked exactly like OPI's Catherine the Grape," and stuff like that. :)

Nail-polish has been my obsession for a while now, the only thing keeping me from making a blog about it was, that here are so many of them already out there and that i'll hardly come up with something new. But today I could not resist. Here it is.

My weak spots are green, purple, red, holo effect, sometimes blue, sometimes glitter, but in general crazy, unique colours, that I don't get in every other store or in every other collection. And Illamasqua. And my thing is seeking dupes. I don't know why, but the first thing that crosses my mind when i see a bottle of polish is "wheeeeereee have i seen this before?!" If i don't come up with a possible dupe, the polish goes with me (or on my wish list ;)). Hence the pile of nail polish i have and it's still getting bigger and bigger and bigger ...

It's a fun obsession and i do hope you'll have fun reading about it. :)
