NOTD of three colours

Heya everyone! How are you doing? It is hot here, a proper summer. I'm not the one for the hot weather, but I guess most people love it. The coffee shop where I'm right now has an amazing ice cream, pure fruit, water based ice cream, it is just heavenly. :)

Today I'm back with a NOTD. I do not normally post them, but I played with different colours yesterday and I loved the way this turned out.

And one without the lace, so you can see the colour more properly.

So yeah, I picked three colours I thought might look good together. Zoya Zuza is on most of my nails, on my middle fingernail Deborah Milano Pret-a-porter Stardust and on my index finger a The New Black mint shade I got at the blog event a week or so ago. On the mint shade I put the Born Pretty Store water decal (I showed them already in a few manis, here's the first post) and then mattefied it with Essence matte top coat. It is getting quite lumpy, sadness! Anyway. I love how it turned out! :) It's on my nails now, hopefully it lasts. :)

What's on your nails today?

Water decals on mint ~ Born Pretty Store review

Hey my dear people! Lots of stuff going on here, but today I had some time to finally do this review of the second product Born Pretty Store so kindly sent me and that I have shown it to you before. I think the store has done some changes with the page and it looks much more organised now to me, so that is great for the customer as well. If you are planning to do some shopping there (their nail art section is insanely vast and has basically everything), you can use my code to get 10% discount on your buy: SSL91

About the product of today's post: they are called 4pcs Nail Water Decals Stickers Black Stripe Ripple Triangle Moon Star Round (item ID: 5631) and are currently on sale for only 2,99$! They have 4 different sets of different patterns, I have chosen the sheet with patterns D196 to D199.

And quite honestly, I did not expect these to work. When I got them, I saw just how big they were and knew there was no chance getting them on my extremely short nails, I did not feel like trimming them and ruining the pattern, but they looked so wide and long I was like ... who can put this on their nails?? So I waited for my nails to get long (I need to do a post about my holy grail of saviours for nails) and figured it is time to try it somehow. I trimmed it a bit, because the shape of the start of the decal is completely useless in my opinion and then tried it, following the instructions.

The instructions are the same on every water decal, it was the same on butterflies.
As I started to put on the decals, I saw that my nails are still too short for the entire decal and that I have not trimmed it enough, they were too wide. I already saw a disaster waiting for a nail polish remover, but then I put the TC on and tried to remove the decal around the nail with a wooden stick. And it worked! Apparently top coat kind of melts the decal on the edges and so it is actually very easy to shape the decal according to your nail lenght. So all of the sudden this was by far the easiest nail art I have done in ages. The pattern is not complete, but I do not mind this, it looks like I have my nails covered in lace and everything is awesome when covered in lace. :)

This is after trimming, and on my longest nail. Your nails have to be REALLY long for these decals.

For all other advice, please check the Butterflies post, they are the same, just add the TC advice to it. :) My pictures are the best I could do in the Bratislava weather. I need to get my lightbox here from Ljubljana, I think I will need it. I am currently wearing Catrice Mint Me Up, that contains gold shimmer and it looks amazing with the water decal, I wish I could capture it.

I adore the final result, it looks awesome, I will definitively purchase these when I use them up. Plus, they take basically no time off you, they are perfect for those who are too impatient or not skilled enough for the stamping or freehand nail art. Love them!

Here is my coupon again, if you want to buy the decals, I totally recommend them. :)

Have you ever tried the water decals? Did you like them?

NOTD: Catrice ~ Mint Me Up

Hello people! Today I'm going to show you my NOTD, because I love this colour so freakishly much I need to share it with someone else than my BF who's only comment was: you can sell this one. To elaborate: I am planning to thin my collection a bit and obviously he thought I do not need to stick to this particular shade. Then again, I know he hates these colours on me. But I shan't sell it because i LOVE it!
I am a bit late with the new Catrice colours, I was in Hong Kong when they came out. And then I first saw them in Vienna and I've bought The Dark Knight, because I needed a vampy colour and I adore the name (Batman fan!). The brush on that one was a disgrace! A very old and used broomstick came to mind when applying the polish. Catrice, what have you done? You had perfect brush, what the hell happened? But still, seeing new colours on Parokeets blog, I realised I will buy some other shades as well, even if I swore I shan't be buying any more polish for myself. Mint Me Up was the first one I bough then and luckily the brush is wonderful, and the colour is simply fantastic. Yay!

To see the golden shimmer more clearly.
This was three coats, two would probably be enough, but I wanted my macro shots to look nice. Good brush, a bit tricky formula though. Mint shade, what can you do. All in all I love it. It's like someone in Catrice factory would mix I Sea You! and Am I Blue Or Green? and added a bit of shimmer. Success!!

Which colours do you recommend from the new line?

Catrice Am I Blue Or Green? with stamping

Hello! How are you doing? It's a lovely day here in Ljubljana and I'm just about to run to my friend's place for a movie (she moved in a couple of months ago and now lives like a minute of walk away from me, pretty darn cool, eh?), so a quicker one today.

Am I Blue Or Green? is a Catrice I never got around to buying. I like the colour, but since I had Mint Candy Apple from Essie I avoid the colour for the bitchy application it arrives with. But I guess this little thing was meant for me, because I got it as a lovely surprise present and I put it on today (thanks, U.!).
To answer the question the name of the varnish asks - it looks blue on me, i think. Mint blue. And the formula, sadly, still sucks. I needed three coats on about a half of my nails and 4 on the other half (2 coats auftragen my ass). But the colour oh so rocks. I love the brightness of it and, pardon my arrogance, it looks so awesome on my hands.

I like how this one turned out, I had to take a picture of a brooch for a friend of mine. The same friend that gave me the polish, actually!

Then I figured Am I Blue Or Green? looks like a good base for stamping and since my stamping skills are non-existent thanks to me not doing it at all and with two of my few plates still untouched, I said I shall try it. I grabbed a black polish, hoping it will work and the m85 Konad plate I got from licila.si as a gift and this is what happened.

Essence TC smeared it up, I hate it for doing that, I was so proud of my achievement. It is far from being perfect, but it's by far the best pattern I've done so far. Plus, I think the combo simply rocks. Luckily most of smears aren't visible if you don't look at my nails too carefully. Either way I like what I did and I love that i found a good black to work with: Vollare cosmetics Nail Artistic black, it comes with a very thin brush, for nail art, but I never use it (surprise surprise). Awesome that it's good for stamping, as far as I remember it's rather cheap, much cheaper than original Konad polish at least.

Any stamping noobs out there or am I the last one? :D Your thoughts on Am I Blue Or green?, are you a fan of colours like this?
