3 greens for the green month

Evening everyone! How are you doing? Today Feline (Alizarine Claws, as you probably all know) reminded me that today is actually first of October (I lose track of time or rather dates when I'm studying) and October is Depression Awareness Month. The colour for this month is thusly green. You all know I'm a green freak, and so I wear green at least twice a week, but I decided I'll too post about it. I wore teal on Ovarium Cancer Awareness day (or however you prefer to call it), but didn't post on it.
Today I'm posting on depression awarness month, simply because I do believe depression is an illness and should be considered carefully. Why? Because I didn't know one of my closest persons was in deep depression until she started to feel better. You just think somebody is "down" because they have problems and after a while you get used to them being that way and you want to help, but since you don't know how to get rid of their problems, you don't know what to do. And it goes on. Thankfully, she climed out of that, but a lot of people don't or don't know how. So basically, people, just be there for them, sometimes just sitting down with your loved one and telling them to spill it with no holding back can help so so much. And be observant. I still regret to this day that I didn't recognize it sooner, perhaps I'd spare her a few weeks or months of it.

Nubar Reclaim, amazing green holo, one of my biggest lemmings, now finally mine. Two coats, could be a one coater easily, with a bit of VNL. Our apple tree helped with this photoshooting. Apples were still green back then, now they are ripe and red.
As for Reclaim ... I was so happy when I finally got it. It's totally up my alley. Then again, Nubar Going Green collection for 2009 (fall collection?) is one of the two collections in the world I want as a whole. Yes, entire collection is an utter perfection and I want it. If you have any from that collection that you wish to get rid off, I'm the right person to contact! I'm one down and 5 more to go!

S-he 310, with the new bottle already. I have no idea why my pictures turned out horrible, this is actually a very cool spring green with visible (!!) green shimmer. My camera didn't capture one bit of that shimmer, not even in the bottle. What the heck?? I'll probably redo this one. Two coats, I needed the third one on some nails, the formula was a bit thick and the brush left bold spots. Nothing major though, lovely shade of green.

Essence Barefoot Through The Moss, from NATvenTURista LE Collection. This and the green eyeliner were the only two things I wanted from this LE, and I'm glad I bought them. Eyeliner is perfect and I love the polish, it's very soft and the silver shimmer looks awesome. Actually this is probably how Gemma would look like if the shimmer wouldn't be blue/purple but silver. The base colour reminded me of her. Three coats, my application was a bit shaky because I was starving while applying it and my hands shake when I'm hungry. Nice brush and good formula though.

Take care of each other, darlings! And for all of you who suffer from depression, hold on in there! *hug*

S-he 435

Hello darlings! How are you doing? I should be studying, but instead I'm preparing for Illamasqua week next week, hehe. Just when I thought I'm over Illamasqua I got Tevta's helmer to guard. But today I have for you another S-he, called 435, one of my oldest untrieds. I just never felt like wearing it. When I finally did a few weeks ago, I could also see why. It's not a bad colour, but it's not something I'm over the moon about either. S-he has some much much better in it's line.

As you can see, it's a bright red with pink shimmer. It needed two coats, as most of S-he do, was super easy to apply and all in all gave me no trouble. But I'm not really feeling the colour. Although I do think it would look amazing as a base for crackle or some scotch tape design. Or konad. Basically something to put on the colour. It is bright enough. Hm ... I'll try it when I find the time.

Other than that, I don't have much to say about this one. Not one of S-he's best, but application and brush are awesome, so if you're digging the colour, you should totally buy it, it's really cheap.

And a sneak peak of next week's program for Did someone say nail polish?:

What? You thought I'll show you the colours? Think again! ;)

Thank you for reading, darlings!:*

S-he 376

Hello everybody! How are you doing? I'm really getting excited about the Illamasqua week, so I think it will happen next week, as I can't wait to try these babies! :) Not that I need any more Illamasqua bottles on my WL, lol. But anyway! A quick one today, as I'm late for a cup of coffee and a buttload of chat with my girlfriends. :)

As it happens, this S-he was a NY's gift from one of them (thanks, dear :*). It's a beautiful purple one with lots of hidden shimmer, but I hate my application for this mani. I was so clumsy on my ring finger, forgive me. This one is a bit older, as you can see by my nails, that are quite longer than my current lenght.

Flash.

I always say S-he is underestimated by quite a few people. They have some amazing shades, seriously, people, for only 1,95€ for 11 ml! Brush never gives me troubles, application on this one is due to me being clumsy not weird brush. I do think one can have a decent collection of nail polish consisting only of S-he. They have all the colours, tons of different finish, including holographic polish ... frankly, the only thing I'm missing in their department is a duochrome. So yeah, I like S-he, quite a lot. Try them, if you haven't already!

What do you think about this purple, S-he 376?

Thank you for reading!

Comparison: S-he 437 vs. China Glaze - Stroll

Hey everyone! I'm totally hyper from my dance classes although I can already feel the pain in my muscles I'll have tomorrow so I'll write another post. I wasn't sure whether to show you this or not, because they're not as close on colour as I thought they'd be, but what the hell, if I did the comparison, I just as may show it. I never examined the bottles together untill I compared them, so they always reminded me of one another, thus making me suspect a possible dupe. But, although the glitter is quite the same, the base colour is different. Pictures!

Bottles put together. S-he has more brown in it (it's also the reason why I haven't picked it from the shelf in the store untill I saw swatches, it just looked like brown glitter), while CG is warmer red.

 On direct sunlight.

Here's the reason why I thought they might be dupes - the glitter looks very much alike, perhaps China Glaze is a tad bit bigger, but the S-he glitter is more dense, on the nail the glitter looks pretty much the same, as it does in the bottle. Sorry for the reflection on middle (CG) finger, it almost looks like the polish is smudged, it's not, it's our porch door, I'm afraid.

And the reason, why they defenitively aren't dupes, just related perhaps. ;) I think this one shows the base colour the best,  CG is warmer, brighter red, S-he almost looks brown.
Again one on the sun, just because.

Here you go ... I hope it's not boring for you, discovering how close two (or more) colours are, I find that amusing and always find a colour, that I think could resemble the other. Sometimes the shades get busted, sometimes they don't. I can easily leave Stroll on my WL, it's too far from S-he. Although I wasn't head over heels with it, to tell you the truth.

Which one do you like better? :)

Thanks for reading!

S-he 437 and a bit of Česká

Hello everyone! I'm back! I came home around 1 a.m. last night, slept until two p.m., missed my classes and so on. I was just too tired and I still am, with a bit of post-travelling depression that I always get after arriving home from a good journey. The trip was simply amazing, I loved it, Praha is just so beautiful I can't begin to describe it. And nothing there was a problem, public transport is unbelievable good and cheap, prices are decent (except for Krtek puppet, but let's not go into that ;)), people are nice (the little contact we had with them in a day), hotel was amazing and all in all a wonderful experience. We also visited Krivoklát castle, that I'll show you later on, because in my opinion it's just amazing and isn't mentioned often enough, and of course Žatec, where the concert happened, but we didn't have time to wander around, the hotel was quite good, and the little town that we saw, nice.

But now on to the manicure that travelled with me. I did a comparison with this S-he and immediately fell in love with it, it's GORGEOUS!

Inside capture, as usual it's a bit blurry, my camera doesn't do inside pictures, go figure, effing diva!

 Direct sunlight with awesome sparkle.

A bit blurry, but you can really see the sparkles on this one, it's quite sparkly!

Two coater, as S-he usually is, it gave me no trouble at all, the brush was great, drying time I cannot estimate, because I put Seche Vite on top, since I needed it to last for four days. It's an awesome colour, I love it.

Mini haul of the week

Again pictures took me so much time, I forgot to show you my mini haul! I'm starting to think this isn't a coincidence ... ;)

It is unbelievable stupid of me to walk into DM or Müller. Every time I do that, I come out with a nail polish. *sigh* At least I try to pick the cheap ones! Honest!

Essence is, our Parokeets ladies tell us, a very good substitute for Essies matt top coat. I don't crave matt finish so much I'd pay for an Essie, so Essence will do and I was hoping I'll get the chance to grab it and couldn't miss on it when I got it.
S-he is number 437 and I totally fell in love with it on a swatch that I found by accident. In store it never caught my eye since it looks too brown in the bottle. But the swatch was amazing!
Catrice's Plum Play With Me was a process with me. For several times I've looked at it, took it off the shelf, put it back, once walked back from the cashier's desk just to put it back ... it was like that for weeks, as I usually go to Müller once a week or so ... anyway, in the end I felt totally stupid today, because I was doing THE SAME THING AGAIN and I just bought it. What the hell, enough is enough.

All three of them are in my comparison plan. :) Essence with Manhattan's Matt Top Coat, S-he with a China Glaze and Catrice with an O.P.I. :)

And what is/are your latest nail-polish dose(s)?  :)

Comparison: Orly Galaxy Girl vs. S-he 434 (pics heavy!)

Biba asked me to do a comparison between Galaxy Girl and hers S-he 434. Sadly, I don't have that number, but it looks pretty damn awesome. Since I'm planning to do three, maybe even four comparisons in near future, I'm super excited about it and am cursing this awful weather that we have! Still, today it seemed like it's bright enough for the comparison and here it is. The post will be really loaded with pictures, since I wanted to capture the differences between the polishes the best that I could. Pictures are klickable and large, so you can see the colours better.

Let's start with the bottles. First, on top is taken outside, and, they don't look much alike, do they?

The both outside close-up show the idea was similar in the making. They both have blue glitter inside, on a dark red/purple base, although Orly's glitter is larger and intenser blue, S-he looks more like a softer shade of shimmer. S-he also doesn't have the duo-chrome effect, obvious from the Orly bottle. Still, same idea, just different (but important, I know) details.

One coat of both, under strong light, blurry, I know, I apologize. :( It's already very obvious S-he has more purple base, and is better pigmented. Here I'm already falling in love with S-he.

This is two coats, under strong light. As you can see, S-he is good to go, while Orly really totally needs another coat. I did a thicker coat on my second finger, but the right, "thin" coat is on my ring finger, and it's really yucky. I have no bloody idea, why my camera created the smudge on my middle finger, it was not there, I swear!

I took the two coats outside for some fresh air and here it's very obvious S-he is a two coater while Orly needs a third one. The glitter difference is already showing up nicely. And I'm SO sorry about the stain on my ring finger, I hate it, but this is the picture that came out best with two coats outside. I fixed my little finger before doing three coats.

All of these shown next are three coats of both polishes, I wanted same number of coats, although S-he, as said before, didn't need the third one. The extras on these pictures are raindrops, as it started to rain while  swatching. They did not get paid.

This one, I think, shows the most the differences in glitter and base colour. While Orly is really glittery and duochrome in bright blue and purple on kinda wine-red base, S-he has soft blusih-silverish shimmer on dark purple base.

Again, the best close up on best lighting, I think the diference in intensty of glitter is very obvious.

Same finger-order, I just didn't write it down, you know the difference now already. ;)
And one with flash, to maximaze the glitter/shimmer difference.

Saved the best for last. I think this one shows the two nail polishes the best, that's why I cropped it to two nails.

Ok, I hope that it wasn't too many pictures. I wanted to capture both polishes in every light I could find in this rainy weather.

For me, S-he is an absolute winner. It's a two-coater and the colour is AMAZING!!! Dark purple, with soft, but generous shimmer, it looks amazing on the nails!! I absolutely love it! The brush is the same as with every S-he, I never have problems with their brush. Polish is good, smooth, not runny, not thick, the application was great.
Orly is a three coater and I don't like the colour, as I already told you in my previous swatching of it. :) Bursh is great, I also had no problem with application, the polish itself is good, just as S-he is.
Drying time on both is pretty much the same. When I tried them, they were both already dry, and it didn't take long. In removing S-he wins, because the glitter is not as big as with Orly, but that's not something to really complain/brag about, when you have glitter, it's a PITA to remove, fact.

So, they are definitively not dupes, but for my taste, S-he looks tons better. If you like Galaxy girl,  S-he's not the substitute for it, but is similar, in a way. And in my opinion, improved. ;)

Biba, I hope you're satisfied with the comparison. I'm sorry for no sun pictures. :( If you'd like them, there is no problem in waiting for the sun (or my personal light box, that I just have to build now with this rainy days) and doing the comparison again. Thanks for the opportunity & hope this helps!

Thanks for reading, y'all!
