Miss Sporty ~ Metal Flip ~ 050 shade

Hey everyone! It is snowing here in Bratislava, it is beautiful!! I mean, the wind was blowing so hard the snow was falling horizontally for a while, but it looks amazing from my warm room. :)

Today I managed to get better pictures of the 050 shade from Metal Flip collection. If you googled this particular Miss Sporty line, you might have noticed that the western bloggers mostly show shades 010, 030 and 040, they all also have names (as you can also see on Miss Sporty UK official site), but the eastern bloggers show 030, 040 and 050. And these have no names. So when I bought them I found the Beetle wings a bit off, only to realise I do not have Beetle wings (010), but an unnamed shade 050. As I think it is a pity that is nameless, so I shall call it Autumn Forest. Yeah. It reminds me of Fall and the colours of the the leaves in Autumn.

The other set of pictures I took when wearing the shade for the first time (some sunlight pictures):

This was all three coats. I love shades like this. And I like how brush strokes are not (too) visible, even if it is a metallic nail polish. All in all I just wish I could get the 010 too. :)

Do you have any shades from Metal Flip collection?

Miss Sporty ~ Metal Flip ~ Fiery Blaze (040)

Hey people! So I bought the Miss Sporty duochromes a while ago and wore them too, but waited with publishing in want of better pictures. As that never happened, I will publish those that I have, at least of the two shades I'm OK with how pictures turned out. I have a feeling these babies kinda flew under the radar of nail polish fanatics, although you can see some pretty awesome swatches on some of the blogs. Admittedly, I am not a fan of Miss Sporty in general. I haven't had a single polish by them, until now. And even in the bottle, Metal Flip looked by far too metallic and brush strokey to me, that is why I searched for swatches before I bought them. Luckily, they are really great nail polish, and for 1.80€ too.

First I tried is Fiery Blaze. Sadly my bottle doesn't have the name on it, I found it online. It is a neat one, shifts from this rich bronze gold/green to the main shift of dark purple. Looks fantastic on the nails.

This was two coats, as far as I can remember. I am impressed by the brush, it is very nice for such a low-budget nail polish, not to mention brush strokes are non-existent. Major plus, as that can be the only thing to really turn me off when it comes to metallic duochromes. Lasted on my nails for good 5 or 6 days as well, but they were short, as you can see.

It is a very nice duochrome for a very nice price. Nothing groundbreaking, but I at least cannot get sick of the duochromes. Ever. :)

Still on board with duochromes? Any Miss Sporty nail polish you would recommend me? Have you seen these in your drugstores, bought any of the collection?

Hits Speciallita Mari Moon ~ Unconventional

Hey everybody. How are you doing? How about a minute to reflect on my blogging in 2013? As I didn't manage to do any of the favourites of 2013 post, where that would be more fitting ... My blogging in 2013, to put it short, sucked.
As my regular readers will know, in the beginning of the year I was a part of a large international competition that lasted until April, and afterwards of course I had my exams and my social life to put back in order, and before you know it I was here in Bratislava in September. During all that time for blog was non-existent or I simply lacked the energy for writing and taking pictures (even went entire March without nail polish, which hasn't happened in years before that).
If I thought I will have more time for blogging here, even about Bratislava, I was of course mistaken. In fact, during Summer I actually considered closing the blog, but then a friend of mine convinced me not to do it. Still, the statistic are a bit sad. I wrote 60 blog posts in the last year. In year before that 112 and in 2011 222 posts. I think one factor was also the fact my camera got kind of broken this year, the battery case keeps randomly opening up, which sometimes makes shooting decent photos quite frustrating and time consuming. Now that I have a decent phone with a camera better than the previous one I think I'll get back the joy of taking pictures of my hands. ;)
I will not make any promises to write regularly, because I make them way too often and then just break them, but I will try. I do love blogging and I have "met" through blog so many great people I think I should keep on doing it. So if you stuck with me until now: thank you, and I hope I'll met you here in 2014 too. :)

The star of this blogpost is from the package wonderful Eveline from Tudo Sobre Esmaltes sent me oh so many months ago. For some odd reason I have not worn Mari Moon Unconventional until now. And it is one of the most stunning multichromes I own. It is insane, really, you should see it in person. Sometimes it is warm purple with blue shimmer, but then it shifts to brighter royal purple and if you shift your hand some more, to a sexy dark red (not unlike Zoya Isla, I think), and if you shift your hand even more it goes orange-y red. Stunningly gorgeous.

The photos were made with my new phone my BF bought me for NY and the camera is pretty darn awesome, much better than my old one. I love how these pictures turned out. I couldn't capture all the colours of Unconventional, there are too many and some of them get most obvious in light too soft for the camera to work properly in. But even these pictures ... ah, isn't it gorgeous?

This was three coats. It is in fact a two coater, but the brush is very Hits Speciallita like, which means way too stiff and bristles are messy, so they dent the polish surface and you need the third coat to even it up. Totally worth the trouble though. :)

Eveline, thank you! I think every single polish from your package was breathtaking. :)

What is your favourite multi/duochrome shade?

Thursday, 4 April 2013

Well, I'm back.

Heya people! How have you been? It's been a while. I have returned just before holidays and did absolutely nothing for three days. Well, except eat and watch Star Wars movies. Very productive. ;) Alas my nails did not held up very well to me being three to four weeks extremely busy and had absolutely no time for them. I walked around with bare nails for the first time in three years. I have visited Hong Kong, Asia in fact, for the first time and it has been an amazing experience. Hong Kong is so incredibly different from Europe, it was so interesting. Oh, and the food - fantastic. We ate like kings. And the food is really cheap comparing to Europe as well, which is great, IMO. Put the price high on things people do not need to exist, but leave food and water available to everyone. *thumbs up* Then we left for windy Vienna, and I got a nasty cold there. The wind cut like razor blade, I was so surprised. Plus, coming from the spring-y HK into still January-ish Europe ... do not like, my dear people, do not like. Anyway. The competition has been an amazing experience and I don't regret anything, not a single hour of hard work put into it. Plus, I had my birthday in Hong Kong, how awesome is that? :D

So now I'm back! I have been completely cut off from the colourful world of make up, and I heard GFC is going away with 1st july. That sucks, since I'm using GFC to read your blogs and everything ... oh well. I'll get used to bloglovin' at last. BTW, on the right side of the blog you can find the button to follow me on bloglovin' as well. :)

I'm already wearing a review mani ATM that I will show you in the next few days. I have pampered my nails like they are little divas, and I feel comfortable about taking photos of them again. Until then, a beautiful mani from February. Ludurana Admiravel, a green multichrome. It is a weaker multichrome comparing to other Luduranas, but such a stunning polish nevertheless. Two coats over Bobbing for Baubles by Essie.

Anything new worth mentioning happened in the polish world  last month? Do share! :)

Ludurana ~ Fascinante

Hey everyone! Today i have another Ludurana for you. These multichromes have to be the strongest multichromes I've ever seen. They are really amazing. So far Brazil nail polish has left me truly fascinated (no pun intended). You have all seen Ludurana Aurora Boreal collection before, but you know what, they deserve all the attention they can get, so I'm showing you Fascinante once more. :)

I was lucky enough to capture some free minutes to do this mani in daylight (grey as it was) and take photos in natural daylight. It shows the colour shift the best. One coat of Essie Bobbing for Baubles and one coat of Ludurana Fascinante. Gorgeous colourshifter, it feels so Autumn like.

A short one today as I am really tired. Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Ludurana ~ Show

Heya people! How are you doing on this lazy Sunday?
As you can imagine, my fingertips were itching to try a multichrome with all Luduranas lying around. I'm a huge fan of duo/multichrome finish, it could be my favourite, next to glass-flecks. And yes, multichromes beat holos any day on my book.

I had no idea which one to try on first, then I decided to go with Show, the teal shift intrigued me. Naturally, this is a polish that is very hard to capture with my little ol' camera. The teal shift became too blue (except on one photo) and the multichrome is so intense on this baby, it is hard to capture it as a whole. A tried to do a video and failed. So I give you all the photos that came out good and still, can't do this baby justice. Ludurana Show is a part of Aurora Boreal Collection. I have no idea when these came out, but nail polish world has been loving them. Show is a dupe (or is insanely close to it) of Ozotic 505. Before I craved Ozotics, but they were impossible to get and expensive as hell. With Ludurana I am a happy hobbit.

One coat of Ludurana Show over one coat of Essie Bobbing for Baubles. Which makes it a super fast mani as well, double points! This is such an amazing polish. Nihrida made fantastic photos of it, in case you haven't seen them yet, I recommend her photos, they are gorgeous. Can't wait to play with others as well!

Do you have any Ludurana polish? Which one is your favourite?

Thank you for reading, have a great week!

Essence Love & Peace and Purple feels so good!

Hey people. I'm having the headache of the Summer, so no smart words of wisdom today. It's the last Essence I'll show you in this long Essence phase, because Into The Dark went very funny on me yesterday and I need to see if I'm right about the top coat being the guilty one for that. So my Essence folder is almost empty and I'll finish it with the topper play. Re-mix your style was a LE everyone went absolutely nuts about. Flakies were in it, so yeah. I got 3 toppers out of 4 and I gave away all of them. Figures. Flakies made their year, so I have tons of them now, and the rest ... well,  I guess I got caught up in the LE hype with this one, bad Ulmiel!

Actually Essence LOVE top coat or Feels So Good, as it's called, is a great, great one. Funny, Essence claims holographic on so many things that aren't holographic at all. And then they make this amazing duochrome topper and they name it 'rose shimmer'. Lol. If I hadn't seen this one at Nihrida's, I'd never have bought it. But I did and then layered it over Essence Love, Peace & Purple. Put the stupid name aside, this purple is amazing. Dupe of one of Chanel's, Perplex I think, and many others and I love it. I've shown it in a post separately here. And here it is layered:

On the sun it looks like rose shimmer only, so I guess Essence was right to some degree. Sun kills duochromes.
This is only one coat of Feels So Good and they make a perfect pair with Love, Peace & Purple. I liked this one a lot.

And now I must go, prepare lunch, hope my head does not explode, you know, the usual Sunday. ;) Did you get any toppers and colours from Re-mix Your Style LE?

Thank you for reading!

Essence - Chirp Chirp with China Glaze glitter

Heya everyone! My Essence week was ruined yesterday when I didn't have the time to post, but no matter, we continue today. I have a not so typical for me polish to show you. Essence Chirp Chirp was a part of Natventurista LE and I didn't care for it at all. A nude stuff with pink shimmer? I'll pass, thank you! But then I saw swatches at Das Experiment. Naturally, on her *perfect* nails, the polish looked amazing. I wanted it immediately, but by then the LE was long long gone and I doubted I'll get it. Strange enough, Natventurista is one of those limited editions I can see in some forsaken jar in DMs even today. So I found my bottle of Chirp Chirp and I'm glad I did, it's one of those nudes I adore.

One in the nature, since that's the whole theme of the collection. Plus, you can see what I love about this most, my nails look so perfectly clean. :)

I tried to caught some of the duochrome shimmer Chirp Chirp contains, but it was really hard to in the dull weather I had when I wore it. On the photograph up you can see a bit of the pink shimmer and on the one below a hint of the green one.

The formula and brush were great on Chirp Chirp. Three coats, an no clean up. I love the final result. This LE caught me by surprise, I didn't think I'll get one thing from it. In the end I have 4 items from Natventurista, 5, if you count both brushes.

I layered China Glaze Marry A Millionaire on Chirp Chirp a few days later. It's a part of Eye Candy 3D Glitters Collection for Winter 2011, and I loved the Marilyn Monroe theme it had. Still, Marry A Millionaire was a disappointment for me, which I didn't expect, being a unique glitter in my stash.

OK, FYI, the polish doesn't look that bad in real life, my pictures turned out horrible for some reason. But I didn't like it as much as I thought I will. Oh well. Plenty other glitter to play with!

Did you get any items from Natventurista LE or Eye Candy collection?

Nubar - Earth and complete Going Green collection

Heya people! Late hour again. My biorhythm has changed again with all the studying, I see. I get up after noon, and am wide awake after two a.m. Well, I've always been more of a night bird anyway. Tonight I want to show you the very last beauty from Going Green collection, Earth. I could have been cool and post it on Earth day but decided I'm going to miss that opportunity.

Going Green as a whole is a big big lemming killed. And I'm wondering. Do you have collection lemmings too? When entire collection is so perfect, you really want them all? When I got the Going Green collection with major help of my amazing swap buddy (thanks again for that!!), I started to think what makes the collection perfect for me. And I realised it's about my favourite things in nail polish world. Nubar Going Green is obviously singing to my huge green obsession. It also has a duo/multichrome, a holo, a rich creme, an insanely rich green shimmer and insanely rich teal shimmer. You basically cover everything, Nubar.
The two collections I want as a whole (although they're not that big lemmings as GG was) cover my love for glass flecked finish and sexy rich dark shimmers. I'm talking about China Glaze Summer Days (noone does glass fleck like China Glaze!) and Misa Poisoned Passion. So basically, a collection covers one of my loves in polish world so well, I can't say no to a colour. Do you get like that too? :)

But to the pictures! Earth is gorgeous! No matter how you take that sentence, it's true to the core. :) And although it looks quite close to Conserve in the bottle, you'll see they're really different.

Two easiest coats, this formula was pure perfection. No clean up, no nothing, one of those polishes you grab if you're in an insane hurry because they'll work fast for you. Just beauty on the nail, and I simply adore how rich and heavy the shimmer is on this polish (heavy in a good way, naturally!)

And just for fun, let's have Earth's brothers here in this post too. Since seeing them all together makes me happy and all. :)

 Nubar Conserve

 Nubar Forest

 Nubar Greener

 Nubar Reclaim

Nubar Wildlife

And just because it's 1:30 a.m. here and I can't stop listening to this gorgeous song:

Fates Warning - The Roads Goes On Forever

Thank you for reading! Have a good night (or a lovely day, if you're reading this with Sun already up :))!

The many faces of Nubar Wildlife

Heya people! How about I show you today one of the Going Green Nubars? I've worn them all now and all I can say is, they are exactly what I expected or even more. Today I'll show you Wildlife with some Depend stickers I've bought a while ago. If you thought layering is the lazy way to do nail art, I discovered nail art stickers bring that laziness to a new level. :) But they are fun and I think they make a good accent nail mani.

Anyway. A few pictures, i wanted to capture as many colours this baby has as I could.

The stickers. I wanted to bring some wild life to the Wildlife polish, haha.

The usual look of the colour.
 But wait! There's more!

 *.*

And the stickers, if you're curious about them. I find them cute, because they're not overdone (like most nail stickers are). Just silver, simple things. Plus I like flowers.

Nubar Wildlife took three coats to be fully opaque. Mind you, for most two would be enough, it's just me being picky. The application was superb, as always with Nubar. I must admit something. Wildlife was a complete surprise for me. I didn't love it much on the photos. I liked it, but I prefered the rest of them over Wildlife. On the nails it took my breath away. I couldn't stop staring at my nails, especially outside. It's incredible. Trully incredible, you need this, if you like duochromes and/or green. I really recommend it. :)

Do you have Wildlife? Do you like nail stickers or do you think they're a waste of time and money?

Thank you for reading!
