Lace mani with Make Up Revolution ~ Change My Life

Hello everyone! It's been a while! Thing is, just as I was preparing my laptop to later on pack it up to move with me, we discovered the battery died. The irony was great with this one. I guess I shouldn't complain too much, as that also means it did live right to the point when my BF actually fixed our PC at home, so yeah, the timing was all in all good. Still, no blogging for me, unless I'm home. It doesn't mean I do not polish my nails or wear make up, of course. :) For today I have a mani I did with a nail polish I received from Slovene online shop called licila.si. I got a wonderful package from them, I will show it in my next New In post.:)

Makeup Revolution Change My Life seemed like a perfect nude colour when I first picked it up. Nudes I lack in my stash, and a perfect nude is always a challenge to find, plus, I immediately got an idea for a mani with Born Pretty Store water decals, as my nails are currently a bit longer. This is what the final result was.

I'm really happy about the result, as you know, I loooove the water decals (review of them with different manis here, here and here). Especially since the application of Change My Life turned out to be quite disastrous. The brush looks like a nice, normal round brush, nothing special. The moment you start applying nail polish, you notice that it is also very stiff. When you get to the second layer, it becomes clear that the stiffness of the brush causes ridges in the application. I tired thin coats and then thick coats, nothing helped. Consequently I applied three coats, on some nails four, wanting to get rid of the ridges, but failed to do so. Luckily the ridges disappeared when applying top coat, but I do not know if that happens every time and with every shade they offer.

This is how it looked like sans top coat:

Not a fan. I always wear top coat with my manis and the water decal covers the ridges very nicely, but it does put me off of buying more shades, even if they are gorgeous, because I do not know how the brush is going to act. Might as well wait for more reviews, I suppose. Other than that, I like the colour, it is a great nude, and it works wonderfully with the water decals. But yeah, consider yourself warned about the brush!

Makeup Revolution nail polish comes in over 40 shades and in 10 ml bottle. You can buy them in licila.si for only 1,95€.

Do you have any experiences with Makeup Revolution nail polish? Is my brush just a dud or their standard stiff brush?

Thank you for reading and commenting, have a great week!

*I got the products as a gift, unconditionally, from licila.si (even the post itself was not demanded).

China Glaze ~ Fast Track mattefied

Hello mah peeps! Whoa, I think this is the weirdest hello so far on this blog. :D I am full as a hobbit, and that's saying something! But I have a dance practise in the evening and I'm also happy as a hobbit for it. Sure, after that I'm working my butt off the entire night, but details details! No matter. It is a good day! :)

Today we continue with China Glaze and the seriously spectacular collection that is The Hunger Games Capitol Colors. Fast Track wasn't really my first choice in this collection but I was very happy when I saw it in the package. The golden glass flecks looked ah-mazing! I thought it will be an excellent neutral work-college-appropriate colour and I was right. Plus, the golden twist is very nice and does bring a bit of bling to the whole look. The next day I mattefied it and I loved the result even more.

A friend of mine told me that Essence Matt top coat isn't available anymore. And I'm using mine surprisingly often! :/ Sucks, really, I love how strong the matte effect is with this one. Oh, on Fast Track it looks even more yummy because the golden flecks keep a bit of glow even when mattefied. I think it looks awesome. :)

The original finish:

The golden glassflecks are quite strongly visible, they give a very nice twist to the nude base colour. I think it looks beautiful. Still, I prefer the matte version. :)

Do you have any suggestion on wallet-friendly substitute for Essence matt top coat?

Thank you for reading & have a great week!

Essence - Chirp Chirp with China Glaze glitter

Heya everyone! My Essence week was ruined yesterday when I didn't have the time to post, but no matter, we continue today. I have a not so typical for me polish to show you. Essence Chirp Chirp was a part of Natventurista LE and I didn't care for it at all. A nude stuff with pink shimmer? I'll pass, thank you! But then I saw swatches at Das Experiment. Naturally, on her *perfect* nails, the polish looked amazing. I wanted it immediately, but by then the LE was long long gone and I doubted I'll get it. Strange enough, Natventurista is one of those limited editions I can see in some forsaken jar in DMs even today. So I found my bottle of Chirp Chirp and I'm glad I did, it's one of those nudes I adore.

One in the nature, since that's the whole theme of the collection. Plus, you can see what I love about this most, my nails look so perfectly clean. :)

I tried to caught some of the duochrome shimmer Chirp Chirp contains, but it was really hard to in the dull weather I had when I wore it. On the photograph up you can see a bit of the pink shimmer and on the one below a hint of the green one.

The formula and brush were great on Chirp Chirp. Three coats, an no clean up. I love the final result. This LE caught me by surprise, I didn't think I'll get one thing from it. In the end I have 4 items from Natventurista, 5, if you count both brushes.

I layered China Glaze Marry A Millionaire on Chirp Chirp a few days later. It's a part of Eye Candy 3D Glitters Collection for Winter 2011, and I loved the Marilyn Monroe theme it had. Still, Marry A Millionaire was a disappointment for me, which I didn't expect, being a unique glitter in my stash.

OK, FYI, the polish doesn't look that bad in real life, my pictures turned out horrible for some reason. But I didn't like it as much as I thought I will. Oh well. Plenty other glitter to play with!

Did you get any items from Natventurista LE or Eye Candy collection?

Thank you for reading!
