NOTD of three colours

Heya everyone! How are you doing? It is hot here, a proper summer. I'm not the one for the hot weather, but I guess most people love it. The coffee shop where I'm right now has an amazing ice cream, pure fruit, water based ice cream, it is just heavenly. :)

Today I'm back with a NOTD. I do not normally post them, but I played with different colours yesterday and I loved the way this turned out.

And one without the lace, so you can see the colour more properly.

So yeah, I picked three colours I thought might look good together. Zoya Zuza is on most of my nails, on my middle fingernail Deborah Milano Pret-a-porter Stardust and on my index finger a The New Black mint shade I got at the blog event a week or so ago. On the mint shade I put the Born Pretty Store water decal (I showed them already in a few manis, here's the first post) and then mattefied it with Essence matte top coat. It is getting quite lumpy, sadness! Anyway. I love how it turned out! :) It's on my nails now, hopefully it lasts. :)

Blue matte with flower accent nail

Hey everyone! It's hot in Ljubljana! Hope you're reading this somewhere in a nice shade with a big bowl of ice cream. :) I'm going to show you a quick mani I did some days ago. I love this Deborah Milano matte nail polish. It's number 10, and I cannot find it anywhere anymore, so I'm guessing it was discontinued back when they were on sale? I don't know, nor can I figure out why Deborah Milano decided to discontinue its matte line right before the comeback of matte finish. :) Oh well! I combined it with a water decal I got from Born Pretty Store for reviewing purposes, for some reason I thought they will look good together, but I didn't like it much in the end.

The water decals are called Chic Flower Nail Art Water Decals Transfer Stickers Splendid Water Decals Sticker (item ID 14474). Say that really fast three times, I dare you! Basically it is a whole sheet of a flower pattern, you get four different ones to choose from. And then you can shape it however you wish, I decided to try and do a whole nail with it, but I think it would look better with a smaller pattern. ATM they are on sale for only 1,59$. Not my favourite water decals from Born Pretty Store, I think they have toooons of much much better ones.

This is how the whole sheet looks like:

Deborah Milano Sense Tech needs only two coats for full opacity and is utterly gorgeous and lasts really long for a matte-no-top-coat mani! Love it! If you can find it anywhere, I do recommend you grab it. :)

If you are shopping at Born Pretty Store, do not forget about my 10% discount code. And remember, free worldwide shipping! :)

Do you have any suggestions for these types of water decals, your favourite shape to cut it into? Do you know about any place where we can still get Deborah Milano Sense Tech?

Matte winter frost lace mani

Whoa, would you believe the stupidity of the title? I have no idea how to name this mani. :) In the last few days I fell in love with Inspired by Winter posts Taya is posting (I'm trying to recreate this today for a night out, j'adore!) and while I was trying to watch an incredibly stupid movie about going to the north pole, the screen being all white and frosty, I wanted to occupy myself with something cool and the idea of winter helped to create this mani.

I used the water decals I've already shown you and I must say, I prefer water decals over nail stickers, they are so easy to use and they last on the nails for days. Other than that, Deborah Milano was already a matte, I put matte TC over the decal, and I mattefied the gorgeous Misa Grey Matters, one of my favourite shades ever. Why I do not have more Misa in my stash, I will never know, their polish is amazing.

My matte TC is the Essence one, I think it is already discontinued and I hate that, because it is perfect and I already spent more than half of it. The rest I already described. It was actually a very easy mani to make, because both Deborah Milano and Misa are great, opaque in two coats (DM might need only one, actually), water decal sticks to the nail in no time (I needed to cut half of it for my short nails, still, I love the way they look), and you put your matte TC on et voila!

Paket Petek ~ Deborah Milano Red Lipstick

Hey guys! Paket Petek! Haul post! As you can see, I am being very diligent about buying stuff and so no haul posts appear on the blog. Even in Hong Kong I only bought a make up brush, a hand creme and some gifts for friends. Yep. Good girl. ;) Today's package contained a wonderful lipstick, that I won on Planet Lepote and I am very happy with it, I already tested it yesterday. I love how perfectly nude it is on me. I have piled my strong reds in the past year or two and came short on wearable tones. Now my collection is very nice in that department as well, but a very good nude I did not have, until now.

I did a swatch as well, but I hate all the pictures of it, so only not so very useful pictures of the lipstick. If any of you want swatches on hand/lips, let me know, I will try again. It is a wonderful lipstick, and I already fell in love with shade 9 on a swatch. Just have to check them in stores. :)

What was in the package you last received? Do you like Deborah Milano lipsticks?

Deborah Milano Pret A Porter gorgeousness in It's Evergreen and Stardust

Good evening everyone! How are you doing? I'm tired as hell, but really feel like posting. These are long effing days for me, people. Loads of work, loads of stress, add a few douchebags into the mix and you can get the general situation. Maybe that's why I want to post this, blog is always such a nice stress relief. Plus, I really really really wanted to show you It's Evergreen since the moment I wore it. ATM it's not on my nails anymore, but it's one of the biggest crushes I had lately from my untrieds end of the table. It's been sitting there for months, since we've gotten Pret A Porter in Ljubljana. Lame, I know. I noticed then in my Deborah Milano folder the gorgeous Stardust is still waiting to be published, so I'm posting them together.

First Deborah Milano Pret A Porter It's Evergreen. *dreamy sigh* Isn't this utterly gorgeous? Such a perfection of a green. Bright green, with golden shimmer. I love it so much. Also, the formula is fantastic, the brush is great and it needs only two coats for full opacity. This baby was a really nice surprise.

And Deborah Milano Pret A Porter Stardust. You probably noticed already that I have a thing for foil finish. I just love it. And this baby called for me right from the bin where it was hiding. I love how Ice Queen this feels. Something the evil Queen of Narnia would wear. And it's also so insanely bright. It needs three coats for full opacity, the formula is again wonderful, so is the brush. I love their brush, it's a bit wider.

So yeah. Two great discoveries from Deborah Milano Pret A Porter series. We were told it's a LE when they came to our stores but I quickly realised it's not an essence type of LE, the shelves/bins were actually refilled and we can still find a lot of shades in Ljubljana. And I always love to find really awesome colours in my local drugstore. These two and Celestial Sky are really a must.

Which shades form Pret A Porter do you have and like?

Nail polish blogger Challenge day 4

Hey guys! Today I'll be quick, I don't have much time, I'm working on another project, I'm really excited about it, I'm planing to show it to you too. :) So now our fourth day of pink challenge. I'm glad you liked my yesterday's mani, I liked it too! But this one just might be my favourite, I loved how it turned out.

I layered Deborah Milano Pret a Porter Purple Batik over my base colour Give Pink A Chance (Finger Paints) and I used simple scotch tape design on my ring finger. I think it turned out pretty sweet. :) I love the glass flecked almost duo chrome look Purple Batik gives to the whole mani.

Like I said, I like it! How about you?

Thank you for reading and don't forget to check other creations in this challenge:

Deborah Milano Pret a Porter - Celestial Sky

It's me again! Nail polish is doing wonders for my nerves in this period of time, but it isn't very good for my wallet, I have to say. ;) Hopefully I'm not too annoying with the constant "i need to study" litany, if I am, do not hesitate and say so!
Today I have a relatively new member of Slovene nail-polish family to show you. I don't think we were able to get Pret a Porter line of Deborah Milano before a few weeks ago. Since we were told it is a limited edition of 40 colours I of course went hunting them down like a madman and so did half of Ljubljana, so it seemed by the speed with which the shelves and jars were emptied. Luckily they restocked them and now I still see them around, so I'll probably buy a few others too. They aren't really cheap, with 2,50€ for only 4,5 ml of polish per bottle, but some colours are really awesome and I like the brush, so hit me with them!

The first I tried is Celestial Sky. It called to me from the jar it was lying in, I noticed it even before I noticed the greens. I really love this colour. It's tricky to photograph it though. The only light my camera wanted to capture the real colour with the details was the inside of a bright room light that makes my hands look yellow. The closer you get to the sunlight with this beauty, less the silver particles are visible and the brighter the blue is.

How it looks most of the time.

The last two closer to direct sunlight, you can see how the silver particles are fading away and on direct sunlight it looks like a really bright blue with shimmer. Still gorgeous tho!

It's an inside polish and I don't mind that one bit. The dusty blue colour is really amazing and the silver paricles give the impression of stars, although I think the blue is too bright to be called a starry night polish. :)

Application wise I liked the brush, which is good, I thought it's going to be too short for my long and wide nails, but it's not troublesome. The first coat is really sad, making you think you'll need 4 coats at least, but it ends at the third one. I do think you need three with this one, unless you apply your polish fairly thick. It dries fast though, even for a three-coater.

Celestial Sky was a nice start for my and Deborah Milano Pret a Porter. I still have a few to go before my final verdict. If you find Celestial Sky I do recommend it (it was the last bottle in the jar and I can't seem to find it anywhere anymore).

Which Pret a Porters did you buy?

Deborah Milano 7 Days Long - 837 with accent layer

Hello everyone! How are you doing? I'm starving! I'm waiting for lunch, so I can write this down, as I've planned to yesterday, but ran out of time. It was a good day yesterday,  too. Nice visit, good game, won a giveaway, saw my BF. :) Nice! I hope you had a good one too!

Today I'll show you a new-to-me brand, called Deborah Milano. It's one of those brands that I always see in the store, but don't, you know, I walk right pass it. Until I saw Maestra's entry on them (thank you, dear, for pointing them out for me!), and I just knew the green one will have to go with me. Since it was buy 1 get 1 for free happening (and, btw - WOW!! It can happen in Slovenia too, holy crap!) I also got Sense Tech 01 Black Mat varnish and all in all it came out a pretty good bargain.

I combined the two for this mani. I wanted to try out 837 alone and layered as shown at Parokeets' so I did an accent mani with black Sense Tech.

I left this extra large, as the details of the finish are the best shown here, so I suggest you enlarge it. :)

Natural light, indoors. Forgive the dusty hands, you know the drill ...

The sticker on the 7 days long says these are "water ice colors" or as our neighbours would say "colori sorbetto". I think this is spot on, since the finish does look like a liquid full of chopped ice, or like a sorbet ice cream. It is a lovely finish, I really liked it, but it's a bit unusual. It's not like glass flecked finish by China Glaze, I'd say. Almost like it has bigger "chunks" of glass. :) It's nicely visible on the first picture, that's why I left it *huge*.

This was four coats, I think ... or three, with the third being fairly thick. I don't advise you that, thick coat doesn't spread even, as you can see on some of my nails. I still had VNL, which I'm not too crazy about. The formula on these is so so, but the awesome brush totally saves it. The brush is really great, it hugs the entire nail, so not even a bit goopy formula was a problem.Colour wise I don't think this is a green lots of people will like. It's very springy, yes, but it boards on lime green almost more than it does on grass green.

Sense Tech mat, that I applied on my ring finger is a different story. I'm not used to matte polish being so bitchy. It was hard to apply, and a closer look would shown you I didn't do a nice curve because of it, the brush didn't help in this case. It dries kinda slow, and more of a satin finish than actually matte, but I like it. I think it will make a great layering polish, if I'll get over the application. Either way, I loved the accent finger, I think 837 looks much much better layered over something dark than on itself. I'll layer it over green soon, you can be sure of that. :)

What do you think, layered 837 or by itself? :)
