New giveaway winner

Hey guys! I haven't heard back from the winner of my Loads to celebrate giveaway, so I picked another one today. This time the lucky number was 22 and under that number hides

Anibani!

Hehe, very cute nickname. :) Congratulations! Anibani, you have until Friday at midnight (GMT +1.00) to get back to me, I'm sending you an email right now. :)

EDIT: I'm so silly. I forgot Anibani has a blog, I just realised that when she commented on the post! Her blog is Me, Makeup and I, and she has the cutest set of nails ever! Forgive me for not linking the blog before, this cold I'm having is really getting to me.

My Loads to Celebrate giveaway conclusion and the winner

Hello everyone! I've been MIA, I know. It's holiday season, mix it with studying and you won't have any time left on your hands! I miss blogging a lot, so I hope I'll get back on track soon. I have my heavy exam in the middle of January, but I hope I'll get to you sooner than that.

Now, I finally went through all your entries for my giveaway, added the extra entries and disqualify the cheaters. I want to thank each and every one of you for entering and for putting comments and suggestions, I appreciate it! So first of all I'd love to address them, I'd appreciate if you'd read them, not only scroll down to see who won. :)

  1. I'm really happy you so warmly welcomed my travelling and non-varnish posts! Which also reminds me I owe you one more post from my last road trip! I'll try to post with more variety from now on - that is, when I'm back to my regular posting about anything at all.
  2. Someone asked me what the base colour in my giveaway post for the flakies was. It was Essie School of Hard Rocks and here's also my post on that combination.
  3. Yes, Number of The Beast giveaway (that then didn't happen for already mentioned reasons) was based on Iron Maiden Number of the Beast song. I even wanted to make a little joke with extra entry for listening to the song on YT. :D I really liked that idea, too bad it went agley.
  4. Someone asked if I could make my pictures bigger. I'm already doing that, can you tell? Sadly I can't put them larger in the post, since my template doesn't allow that (which reminds me I need to work on the look of the blog too), but when you click on it, it's usually bigger. Is that better, would you prefer them even larger?
  5. I got two requests on nail art, one quite specific, horoscope themed nail art, made me chuckle, I don't know if it was a joke or not, but it was amusing. I'm kinda more on Sheldon's side when it comes to astrology, so I doubt I'll ever make a horoscope themed nail art, but you never know! :) As for nail art in general ... *sigh* I remember I did a NY promise for 2011 that I'll do more nail art, and still I'm down to a minimum. Sure, I've started with stamping, and i love scotch tape art, but I seriously lack the time for nail art, it bugs me, but I can't help it. Lately I lack the time for changing my polish to begin with, let alone to do a nail art. And I really want to try sponging, argh! So I promise, I'll try to post more nail art in 2012 and I take that to my heart, ok?
  6. As for reviews and haul posts, I'm doing that when I have something to post. :) I turned haul posts to 'Paket Petek' label posts, as for reviews, I will post if I find something really awesome. But other than that I consider every post I do a small review of the polish I'm showing - that's why I'm always writing about the formula and all.
  7. Someone kindly warned me about GFC being removed. I figured that one out after I started my giveaway, that's why I left the condition of being my GFC follower be, but I'm aware that soon I'll gave to make a Google+ site for you guys. If anyone has any helpful advice on how to make the transition easier, let me know in the comments, please!
Thank you again for all your kind words!

All in all I had 144 people entering, that's before I did the extra entries for regular commentators and checked the GFC status. In the end the number was 161 and the lucky number that was randomly picked was 73. Who was hiding under that number?

Tashiiika

Congratulations! Since it's NY and a lot of people are not at home, I'm leaving the deadline for getting back to me until January 3rd. If I don't get a reply until then, I'm choosing another winner.

Thanks to my BF for helping me with the secret ways of Microsoft Excel, making the whole checking deal and choosing a lot easier. :*
And thank you guys, for simply being here, making my day with your comments, and not giving up on my blog even when I disappear for a while. :) You're the best!

I'll be away until January 4th, but then I hopefully return with my top 10 of this year, I like the posts other ladies are doing, I hope I find the time for it too. Plus the last post on my road trip!

Have a great great new year 2012, may it be magical, full of health, happiness and joy and of course nail polish! :*

ASK Cosmetics and their Gigantic Festive Giveaway

Hello darlings! I'm sorry I've been MIA, school work got the best of me, and right now I'm still on a tight schedule as I type this away. But I just read an email I received from the very kind Lisa from ASK Cosmetics and I know you'll want to know this!

As some of you already know, I'm a giant fan of nail care products. Seriously. I love my nail polish, of course, but nail care products are a thing I'm always on the look-out for and I love to try and discover new things. Of course I was happy to browse through ASK Cosmetics site. Natural cosmetics, yes! Aaand as it happens, they're having a gigantic giveaway of their products and the group picture looks SO yummy!

For more information I suggest you go to Lisa's Nailcare Blog or visit their Facebook page, if you prefer that. I think it's a wonderful prize and well, I'm a big fan of trying out new cosmetics!

I hope I'll be able to post something more today, if not, then tomorrow. But do tell, did you try ASK Cosmetics, do you have any experiences with any of their products?

Thank you for reading, have a great week!

Loads to celebrate - a giveaway

I bet you thought: "That little bitch. Before she left she told us there will be a giveaway when she gets back and what do we get when she returns? Freaking novels about her road trip and no freaking giveaway!" Or didn't you? ;) I of course haven't forgotten about my little promise. I just waited for a silly thing, as I was getting really close to it. This is my 300th post on Did someone say nail polish! Holy cow! 300 posts! I thought it would be fun to launch a giveaway on my 300th post.

And not just the post number ... I really planned this giveaway to happen months ago. First with me reaching 666 followers (I even had the title of the giveaway - The Number of the Beast, hehe), but my studies just didn't allow it to happen and time passed. Then I wanted one for 700 followers, but I had a big break in blogging when that happened. Then, on 19th September, my first blogoversary happened, and all I did was study my ass off for a very important exam. And I'm sure a lot of other little or big milestones that I missed. Right now I'm over 800 lovely people who take their precious time to read my blog and it's about damn time I show you all the stuff I gathered for you in the last months. Since there are a lot of stuff I wanted to celebrate with this giveaway, I decided I'll just call it "Loads to celebrate". Since there is.

I wanted to do as many colours and finishes as I could so hopefully you'll all find something that looks appealing to you in the giveaway!

And a closer look:

  •  Depend 204 (all the way from Finland, we didn't get it in Slovenia. Thanks Kaneli, for getting it for me!)
  • Eveline Holografic Shine 401
  • Deborah Milano Pret A Porter Burlesque Red
  • Aden Cosmetics 58
  • Aden Cosmetic 53

  • Essence 50's Girls Reloaded LE You're a Heartbreaker
  • Essence Re-mix your Style LE DANCE Waking up in Vegast top coat
  • Kiko 268
  • Catrice Papagena LE Welcome to the Jungle (thanks to Tevta for getting me another bottle!)

My pictures of some of them, to get a better look at the colours (they are NOT made with polish I'm giving away, I have my own bottles!):

And I still haven't worn Welcome to the Jungle, OMG, I was sure I did! Some awesome swatches of the rest:

I'm sorry, I couldn't find any swatches of Aden Cosmetics polishes. They are both glitter, one blue in a blue base, other pink and blue in clear base. They looked cool, so I grabbed them on my road trip for ya. :)

I'm going to keep it simple this time. All you need to do is follow Did someone say nail polish via GFC and fill in the google document below. But here's one thing I'm allowing myself to do. As you probably noticed, I love your comments. I greatly appreciate every single one of them. Because I know commenting takes time. It really does. When I had time to comment a lot of blogs often, it easily took me an hour and a half to get through them all. So I completely understand all of you who simply do not have time to comment, even when you want to. I honestly do. But I'd love to show gratitute to all of my regular commentators in the past year by giving them an extra entry. I know the giveaway isn't big, but i still hope you'll see it as a token of my gratitude for every single minute you spend on commenting this little corner of mine. It doesn't mean I consider you a regular commentator only if you comment on every single one of my posts. Basically if I remember you commenting, I consider you a regular one, since that usually means you did it more than once and it doesn't really matter if the last comment was months ago or last week. I know things happen and sometimes you just have to stay away from the computer for weeks.

The giveaway is opened internationally and it ends on December 15th at midnight. Any sort of cheating will lead to deleting all of your entries to the giveaway. If you're not sure if you already entered, write a comment, don't do another entry!

All in all it has been a great year, my dear people. I love blogging and the nail polish blogsphere is seriously one of the nicest I've ever encounter. I met some wonderful people in this year and I hope I'll meet even more of you in the next. :) Thank you for sticking around! YOU ARE AWESOME!

Do tell in the comments if you like the colours and if anything is left unclear! Thank you!

A short break, a question and a preview

Hello darlings! How are you doing? I just wanted to let you know I'm going on a short roadtrip on Wednesday and I won't be back to Slovenia until Tuesday. I cannot wait to get moving, I really like the plan we made for the trip, hopefully the weather will also be on our side. :)  Tomorrow I won't have time to post, since I'll be packing, that's why I decided I'll post today. So you'll have a break from me for an entire week, haha. ;)

The question of the post is for lovely ladies from Slovakia and Czech Republic. These two countries are the main ones we'll be travelling in. Naturally I'm curious and would love to know if I can get any special nail polish beauties in these two countries that I should pay attention to and grab it if I get the chance? Any name of the drugstores, nail polish brands or even towns/streets will be highly appreciated. You can also write me an email (Contact page on the blog), if you're not comfortable with comments. :) I'm keeping my fingers crossed for any Polish brand, since I'll be much closer to Poland, but I dunno, maybe Slovakia has some kickass brands too. :D

And the preview part. I'm going to launch my giveaway, that I've been promising for months, when I get back. So I decided I'll show you a couple of colours I already have for the prize. Just for fun.

Have fun this week! *muah*

OMG! Polish 'em Anniversary Contest

Hey people! How is your first day of the week turning out to be? Mine ... quite interesting! I'm glad I could sleep a little longer today, I'm not a morning person. ;)

Here's something I'd really like to spread the word about because I think it's effing fantastic and from what Salla tells us, is not getting enough love! She's making this awesome contest for one year of her blog OMG! Polish 'em that is themed 1980's music
She divided the prizes to 'rock' and 'pop' sections, so all can have their pick! And the prizes are unbelievable too, from Gosh Holographic to Nubar Petunia Sparkle! And I know we have loads of nail polish fanatics that just rock the nail art, all you need to give them is a theme! And I know everyone knows at least one 80's song that they love!

I already have my song and idea, I just need to put it on my nails (and Lord of the Rings, let it look at least a bit like it does in my mind!) and send it. I hope you will too!

Here's the link to direct post on the contest: click me! The deadline is 28th of October!

What do you think? Do you like the theme? I love it!

Thank you for reading, nails coming up soon!

Of gifts, giveaways ...

My darlings! How have you been? Yes, I know, I'm back later than promised (and planned) and so once again my Eveline week is postponed ... man, it's just not meant to be. We enjoyed our break in the lovely village next to beautiful Bled so much, we decided to extend our vacation till yesterday. I came home late in the evening and by the time I replied all the emails I was just too tired to write a blog post too. I really had an amazing time, great week, just perfect relaxation after all the work for college.
Nail-wise: I cut them really short today. There in the house they don't have a washing machine and since I (for once) had to do or help with the cooking and the cleaning (which I'm usually spared of during studying time thanks to my lovely mother) and I broke one of my rules with forgetting the latex gloves for cleaning, my nails were in poor shape and I decided that instead of filing them down, I just cut them completely, so they can completely recover from scratch. So at one point you'll be looking at some seriously short nails on my blog, but to tell you the truth, I like them this short, for once. :)

To today's post. It's LONG overdue. I wish to thank some people for being so kind and generous and frankly, it's been months since I've planned it. Why? Because I'm constantly waiting on one or two packages and then I always postpone it, 'just this package more and then I'll post it' and this is going on for a while now. Right now I'm still waiting for a couple more, but I guess I'll do another one or just thank the lovely ladies when I post the polish itself. Especially since I'm starting to forget what I want to put in the post. But since it piled up so much right now, it deserves a special post, I hope you'll find it interesting enough. :)  *** I have just written only half of the planned post and realized it's way way too long already, so I'll cut it into two, the other half shall come tomorrow. :)

First to gifts. Remember how I complained about my BF leaving for a whole week again and how he better get me some seriously awesome polish from the trip? Well, he did. :) Not only that, he brought me all sorts of stuff, also a couple of hand cremes and you know how much I love them. :) Here are the four beauties. They are from local Lithuanian brands, of course I never heard of them in my life, but I'm really glad to have them, I love local nail polish brands. :) As always, my love had an awesome taste in picking them, I already tried two on and they seriously kick ass. Thank you. :*

Brands Búk (no idea what that means) and Nail System, no names, just numbers.

And now to giveaways. I was lucky to win two in last few months. One from lovely Holly (she has a great blog called shimmerspark.com, go check it out!) and the other from Chi Chi (also awesome blog called The Phalanges Files, check this one too!). Both were very great surprises, I never really expect to win the giveaways, since there is always so many entries and with every giveaway I'm still amazed by generosity of nail bloggers.

I forgot to put the Bundle Monster plate and the purse-sized nail files on the picture, silly me! So the gift was even larger.

The two amazing crackles, especially blue one totally stole my heart, I'm impressed by them!

Holly and Chi Chi, thank you both so much! I already played with most of the stuff and I love everything! Avojuice has to be the best body lotion I've ever tried in my life - at least the best smelling one for sure! Dust Bunny from Overallbeauty my favourite eyeshadow ATM and Butter and the blue Sally Hansen polishes the best yellow and blue crackle I have. So I'm one lucky hobbit, don't you think?

More of swaps and special hauls tomorrow! Tell me, what was your latest awesome nail polish purchase?

Thank you for reading!

Giveaway with 7 winners by Varnish Vixen!

Hey guys! As you probably noticed, I stopped posting about giveaways a while ago. I put them on my sidebar, or if that isn't an option, just lose an entry, since there are just too many giveaways out there and I would swamp my blog into giveaways-only blog and I don't want that. But every once in a while a really big, crazy giveaway happens, and I just have to let you know about it! And yes, get an extra entry, dude, I want these! ;)
Varnish Vixen prepared a Yay! Spring Giveaway! She included 7 different sets of polish, they include Katy Perry Collection by O.P.I., Illamasqua's Scorn, RBL Insouciant, the MAC Wonder Woman nail polish duo (!) aaand holografic polishes from China Glaze (DV8, LOL and two more!) aaaaaaaaaaaand three BB Coutures!! OMG. Can we make a deal, don't choose BBs, so I'll get them? LOL Just kidding. ;) But seriously, getting any of them would be totally awesome. Oh, one more! Giant grab bag with 19 (!) polishes, including Deborah Lippman, Milani, RBL, Butter London, O.P.I. etc.

Crazy, eh? Varnish Vixen, dear, you're awesome, it's a fact. The pictures are great, I'll post just one, go and sign up for the giveaway and see the rest of them!

Good luck, darlings! :*

A nail polish week

Hello darlings! How are you doing? I'm kinda sleepy and kinda grumpy. I watched the Oscars and that in our neck of the woods means I've been up untill 6 a.m. But I'm for once happy with the results. All the right people and movies got the attention, with the exception of Helena and Geoffrey, I really think they deserved to get the prizes, especially Geoffrey Rush for his amazing work in King's Speech. The entire show was fun and not boring at all, so thumbs up, people!

But anyway! Today I have a different post for you. I stopped doing haul posts, if you haven't noticed already, I did them in the beginning and then noticed somewhat negative reactions in general to haul posts, so I'm doing them now only when they are really special.
I was quite lucky to win two giveaways lately. One I already showed you, at least part of it - the necklace I got from Colorfulbottle, I still have to get to the polish, I've already played with them a bit, just didn't get the chance to post them. The second giveaway was the annonimous one from Parokeets. To those who regularly read my blog - I'm sure you know already I'm such a big Tolkien freak, I'm probably the only one that would make a nickname out of first sentence of the book The Hobbit. ;) Thank you, Parokeets ladies!

Essence Undead? and Thirsty!, Konad kit, Essence all overy plate and Choose me! polish; Manhattan 710T, gorgeous dark blue polish.

I've already played a bit with Konad, and I wanted to show you, but frankly, it's too awful to even show it. My major, major admiration to all of you who do Konad art regularly! I had NO idea it's so hard!! I almost spilled polish numerous times, not to mention I got polish everwhere. :S

The Parokeets surprise came on Monday last week. So you know that would make an awesome week already. But on Wednesday another package arrived, that I've been waiting for since previous week. It was my first swap I did on my own, guys, and that was with the awesome nail polish blogger Kris from My Lucid Bubble. I need to thank her for all the patience she had with me and the questions, and I'd also like to thank Tevta and Dolores from Colorfulbottle for useful tips and instructions! Wow, lots of thanks. You can see I've watched the Oscars, can't ya? ;) Here's the amazing package she sent me.

From L to R, all Brucci: Stephanie's Go Lime, Gianna's Rocking Blue, Roberta's Green Garden, TJ's Blue Suede Shoes, Black Emerald (!!! beyond awesome duochrome!)

Seche New Orleans, Orly Robo Romance, Color Club Charmed, I'm sure (iii, my first CC and a mini, cute!!), Wet'n'wild Cheers, Finger Paints Hue Rang?

The bottom two I could also name DIE LEMMINGS DIE!
Jesse's Girl Confetti, Revlon Royal, Misa Toxic Seduction!!!, Sinful Colors San Francisco!!!, Sally Hansen Salon effects strips Frock Star.

O.P.I. Show Must Go On and Glacier Bay Blues. China Glaze Emerald Sparkle, C-c-courage, VII.
*faints*

source: gifbin.com

Kris, thank you thank you thank you!! This package has been a sheer perfection. I mean, SO many lemmings killed, not to mention Confetti just might me one of the most perfect polishes I've even tried on. Emerald Sparkle, Toxic Seduction, Glacier Bay Blues and VII were one of my biggest lemmings. I think I acutally squeeked when I saw them. My mother thought I'm insane, probably. I don't care, these babies made my whole year!
I've already put on Jesse's Girl Confetti and Revlon Royal, but I ask you, dears, do you have any wishes what you'd like to see first? Shoot, if you do! :)

So yeah, I won't show you a manicure now, because then there would be too many pictures in the post. But tomorrow one perfection for you! It has been a good week for polish last week, don't you think? ;) Not to mention I'm expecting a package from Finland with Depend and I'm still missing a few China Glazes from new collections. What? I'm insane? I crossed the line? What? I caaan't hear youuuu ...

My Sweet 16 for glorious 100 giveaway conclusion and the winner

Hello everybody! How are you doing? I'm about to run to my dance classes, so I hope I'll manage to write this in time, otherwise I'll post it after I come home. As this one is very important for me, I'd not like to rush too much into writing it and forgetting half of stuff I want to say, and I'd really appreciate if you read it (and not only search for the winner's name) and share your opinion on the matters.

First of all, a major, major thank you to all who participated! In the end I had 318 entries without additional entries (and with cheaters). The response has been ... unimaginable for me. I honestly didn't expect it to go this big. Not to mention I went from 120 to over 450 awesome followers in a month. I was shocked and still am. Thank you to all of you who read my writings and especially to those who take the time to comment them! I really appreciate all of you guys.
I would also like to thank all of you who wrote a comment about the giveaway too! I was really surprised most of you wrote something, I expected to have like 10 comments or so. :) I'm considering all your thoughts and suggestions for my further giveaways as you'll see if you read on.

Now to a less fun paragraph I decided I'll write and then forget about it. I was surprised in a negative way by the cheating. When I first saw one entered eight times, I warned about 'one entry per person' policy and that I will have to disqualify you if you entry more than once. Not to mention other little things. All these were exceptions and I'd love to think all of these were just silly mistakes, but every single time, when someone thought they have already entered or one did a mistake in the entry, I got an email or a comment asking to check it out, I don't know why these individuals didn't also do so. I have filled numeours google forms, I know you can't accidentaly send it without you knowing it. So, I want to make something really clear for my further giveaways: I will always check all the entries, for multiple emails, nicknames and click on all the links. Please don't cheat, it's really not fair to the others.

To leave this behind once and for all. I'd also like to address quite a few suggestions on tearing the giveaway in 4 prizes and so giving it to more people. As much as I love the idea, I really do (4 winners is always better than one), I have thought about it and the thing that worried me was the shipping costs. I'm on a student budget and couldn't afford to make this entirely international then and I really wanted to leave it international, because I know what a bummer GA that you cannot enter is. But I took this into consideration and my giveaways in the future will be smaller and thus I'll try to make them more often or will have them every once in a while, but post it big and choose more winners, ok? I'll also keep my further giveaway much more simple and on shorter period of time.

Most of you, 99,8%, didn't mind some of the polishes being used. So I will keep giving them away too, but I will always warn you about them being used, thank you for sharing your honest opinions on that subject too, as this was the one I was the most worried about.
Also most of you totally loved the holographic polish. This is all taken into consideration for further GA, as I am doing it to spoil you, awesome people, that bear with me babbling every day.

I think this all for my thoughts on this giveaway. Again, thank you for entering and thank you for super nice comments and sharing your opinions and suggestions in the entry form! The response trully means a lot!

For my further GA, I'll think about it and will see how and when will they happen, I can't promise you anything. I don't think I'll do a bday GA, since it's only a month away, but I already have two ideas for further giveaways, I have to check everyhing out if it's possible to go through with it, and I can't promise you when it's going to happen, as my exam period is closing in on me and this year is going to be a hard one, but when I do another one, I want it to be something you can't get around the corner.

And now you're really getting sick of me not saying who the winner is, eh? ;) In the end after going through all the entries and with major help from my BF (thank you :**) the lucky number was 125 and the name under that number is

EMER

The name totally reminds me of Eimear Quinn and her The Voice. :)
Congratulations Emer!! I'll send you an email, and you have untill the end of 16th February (midnight CET) to answer or I'll choose another winner.

Darlings, I hope you had as much fun as I did with this giveaway! No worries if you didn't win, this is certainly not the last one I did. :)

I hope you'll have enough time to share your opinion about the written above in the comments.

Thank you for reading and following!

Giveaway closed! (+ China Glaze Starboard with BB Couture Clyde and a flower necklace)

Evening darlings! I'm sorry for such a late post, it's been a very long day and appearantly it will last for a couple more. Nevertheless, apart from 9 hours of classes, evening was great and when I got home, I had a lilttle package form colorfulbottle with my giveaway winnings. :)  But first: my giveaway is now closed! Don't try to enter, please, because I will not count your entries anymore. More about GA when I choose a winner, I'll try to do this during the weekend, but it also depends on my BF as I asked him to fix me the program. I hope you don't mind, I promise it will be on Tuesday the latest! There are *a lot* more entries than I anticipated and before I check everything, it's going to take me some time that my classes don't really allow me to give.

To my NOTD, or rather Nails Of The Night. Like I said, I got te package from colorfulbottle today.I cannot wait to try the polishes out, but right now I'm really dying to show you the necklace she did for me. It is perfect! Your really should check her work out, she does some amazing necklaces and earrings and has an extra blog just for that, called Treasure Box. So I used it as my model for the photos. Again China Glaze Starboard, with BB Couture Clyde on my ring finger.

See how awesome the petals are and the little leaves?? Love it! Thanks darling! :* Excuse my not so great mani, did it mere minutes ago and i'm tired and haven't have much to eat today thus my hand is shaking. But I couldn't stand the tip wear on my old one anymore.

Short one toda--tonight, darlings, some work to do, and then finally sleep! Sweet dreams and thank you for reading!

Green Comparison: ChG Gussied Up Green vs. MNY 761 vs. Joy 383

Hello people! How are you doing? I'm having a break with coffee and cookies and I decided I'll show you an old comparison I prepared for you about two weeks ago but still haven't posted it.

Before I start - I want to point out an amazing giveaway Kris from My Lucid Bubble blog is doing. It's *the* Clarins 230 and it's a special kind of giveaway where you donate money for it. 1 $ = 1 entry. Entire take will be given anonymously to the safe house for those who want to leave an abusive relationship. I loved her blog before and she's a totally awesome person, but this made me just go all Wayne's World on her with bowing *we're not worthy, we're not worthy!*. Not because of the polish, that seems so trivial when you see the cause of this giveaway, but because of this really fantastic idea, that gives entirely different viewing angle of giveaways and a fantastic idea for new level of nail-blogging. I have such a major respect for you, Kris, for thinking of this and doing this, I cannot express it. You rock, in short! So sign in, people! You can get a bottle of polish that goes up to 200 dollars on ebay and every cent you give for it will go to those in need!

And now to my comparison. I put three shades in the comparison, that seemed very close in the bottle. You'll see one is just pretending to be close, but other two are relatives. ;)

As you can see China Glaze Gussied Up Green is pretty close to MNY 761, but the shimmer is much richer and it makes it greener than MNY. Joy looks close in the bottle, but is totally different on nails, more dark green grassy, with different shimmer, and yet also totally beautiful.

About polish itself: Gussied Up Green is a China Glaze which means for me application is almost flawless, I had no trouble at all, I applied three coats in want of making equal coats for all of them (and failed), but GUG is a two coater.
MNY 761 is the one I liked the least with the application. Although the brush is flatter and should make application easier, there are bold spots even after second coat. I needed to apply four to make it even, which is a bit much, I'd say.
Joy 383 is a two coater without a doubt, very nicely pigmented, I did three because I thought three will do also for MNY. The only flaw I found on Joy was the stink that wasn't very joyful. This polish stank up my room totally. Nasty little beast. So it's definitively not a big3free polish, but still very beautiful.

Colours: Gussied Up Green is perfect. I adore this colour and I think it's a must for just about every green fan. I got this from Tevta's shoebox, so sadly I'm still on the wait for my bottle. ;)
MNY 761 is almost too dark, it goes black quite fast. The pretty shimmer it has is quite visible on the sun but it soon goes too dark for my taste. It was a bummer, this one. I had it in my heap of untrieds, so this was my first try with it. I expected a bit more, out of application and colour.
Joy 383 was a major surpirse. I really didn't expect the colour to turn out like this. I mean, check the bottles, it looks just a tad bit lighter than MNY! It's a gorgeous colour, though, I wonder what is this a dupe for?

I think the brushes are good on all three of them. As for prices, Joy is of course the cheapest in our neck of the woods, 5 ml for around 90 cents. The closest we can get MNY is Austria, there is really cheap, 7 ml for 1,95€. China Glaze, well, you know the drill. Ebay for whatever you can get it, transdesign for 2.99 $ + shipping and our zapikonai.si for 7€ + shipping.

Dupes? No. I don't think MNY and GUG are close enough to be called dupes and Joy is entirely new colour. So yeah, if you like green, get them all. ;) The one I could live without? Probably MNY, as I needed 4 bloody coats for it (i sincerely hope this was just me having a bad day, I will give it another go!) and it tends to go dark fast.

So yeah, here it is. What do you think about them? Own any of them? :)

And here's a lil' something that made me smile and carries a very very good point and the truth!

Color Club Spring Collection preview and another giveaway

Hey people. While I'm relaxing from the studying I just as may ask you for your opinion on new Color Club collection. Bottle photos are out, and some of them are looking goooooooood!

I got the photos on Scrangie's blog, I hope she doesn't mind, click on the nick to go to her page. Not that you don't already know it. ;)

The bottom bottles look soooooooo awesome! From these picutres I want the first, the third, the fourth and the sixth. On the upper picture, with pastels I'm not sure if I want any. Perhaps the fifth one, but I'll need to see some swatches. Anyway. Duochrome, baby!! Color club is so freakishly awesome! Can you believe I don't have a single bottle of Color Club? Sure, I tried them out from Tevta's stash, but a bottle of Color Club being just mine? Not yet! OMG! I know! These look beyond awesome to me. Can't wait for some swatches and I bet I'll want at least 4 colours.

Second thing I want to point out is American Apparel giveaway Sam from Fashion Polish is having.

Now, American Apparel is one of those "I wannaaa" brands for me. Like Eyeko. I just totally want to have them and I can't get them anywhere, and they don't even have the top number of  colours on my WL I want. There were a couple of giveaways of AA I was chanting every day to get, but of course I didn't. I don't know what's with AA that I want so badly. Ever since I saw giant haul Parokeets ladies did, I seriously want them. Colours like Hunter, Peacock, Army Jacket (!!), Malibu Green, Mount Royal, Dynasty, American Violet get me drooling all over my keyboard. Although I know I must know million dupes of Hunter, but all others I wouldn't mind one bit to have. Anyway. Sam gives us the opportunity to get 5 polishes from the new American Apparel line of our choice. From the colours above I think it's quite obvious that won't be a problem. Army Jacket is the third from the left and it's killing me!

Now, I'm curious. What do you think about new Color Club colours? And do you have any brand that you totally want to have, even though it doesn't have the highest number of shades on your WL? :)

Depend 170 and giveaway update

Hello darlings! How are you doing? I'm having my second cup of coffee right now, although I promised myself, I'll cut down coffee to one cup per day ... yeah, being a coffee addict that's like saying "i'll only buy one nail polish per month". That's gonna happen, Ulmiel. Really. *sarcasm*

I want to thank you all for an insanely good response on my giveaway! I'm shocked, actually. I didn't expect it to go this big at all, let alone after a day. And I thank you for all the comments, so I can fill what's missing! Here's the deal:
  1. Yes, you can put the giveaway notice on a separate page on your blog. I'm trully sorry I didn't mention it, I meant the sidebar and the page together. Whatever system you have on your blog for publishing giveaways, you can use it. If any didn't publish it because you thought it doesn't count, send me a link in the giveaway comment, and I will count it, ok? :)
  2. I see a lot of love for the holografic set. Since many of us were expecting OMG holo with Tronica and felt disappointed about not being OMG holo, i started thinking about it and I want to tell you, althought that's the reason why I did the close-ups of the bottles, this is not an OMG intense holo! You can see that from the bottle. I haven't gotten any for myself, but I will try to and I'll swatch it, just to make sure there are no disappointments, ok? I'm doing the giveaway for you so I don't want you to feel cheated by anything you'll recieve from me.
I think that's it. I'll post this in the GA post too, just to be on the safe side. I want everyone to have fun with the giveaway so I want to make it as clear as possible.

And now to my today's swatches. When I tried out the green Depend, I was totally surprised by the awesomness of the colour and excellent behaviour of the polish. So I decided to try the other two as well. and so my pile of untrieds is getting a bit smaller. :) I have no idea how was I able to keep my hands off 170, being my big lemming and all, with a total awesome story behind it. So I put it on and this baby is rocking my world for the 4th day now.

Isn't this just so freaking gorgeous? A totally dusty greyed blue creme, it hits me every time I see it on my nails. I cannot get sick of it! I think 170 (the originality of the name gets me every single time. Just say it. Slowly.) is a part of 2009 Fall Collection. It's a bit thick, the structure reminded me of I Sea You! Catrice polish which is also on the thicker side. But it's also an almost one coater. Some bloggers did a mani with 1 coat, I did it with two, also because then the nail is stronger. I put SV on top, so I can't estimate drying time, but Alizarine Claws reports Depend dries really slowly. The tip wear after 4 days is less than minimal. I usually have bigger tip wear after one day with most of other polish. So it's quite amazing. I think one can wear this baby easily for a week or more, but for 5, 6 days without a doubt. I also had no trouble with the application, brush is awesome, I just had to change my strokes to "thick polish" mode.

The bottle, as you can see, is really tiny, 5ml. I don't think that's a major problem with nail polish junkies, because we have tons of polish anyway, but. This colour isn't available anymore. The only reason why I got it, is that Kaneli is totally awesome and she actually contacted the Swedish manufacturer and they sent her a few bottles. So, Kaneli, thank you again!!
Now, I ask you. What makes you say to a beyond awesome dusty greyed blue one-to-two-coater that lasts for a week and is easy to apply: 'let's stop making it!'?? What, Depend?!?! What's the story behind your decision? Did the couple that made the colour break up and didn't want to see it on the shelves anymore, what??

Seriously, people, I really really dig this polish. I haven't have one shade on my nails for 4 days for months now, but this one I find interesting even now. I just may leave it on till tomorrow. I really hope they bring this one back. If you have it, you should stop random people on the street and brag about it, really.

What do you think? Yay on ney? Do you have 170? :) Do you know any dupes of it? If you do, share, for Pete's sake!!
