Essie ~ Bahama Mama, a perfect fall shade

Hello everyone! How is it going? Here in Ljubljana we are just good 4 days away from the 3rd Sci-fi and Fantasy convention Na meji nevidnega and I am super excited about it!! I have a new costume, and I think it is just going to rock, I cannot wait! If you will be in Ljubljana, come visit us at Tabor! :)

Another Essie, and by far my favourite one. Such a gorgeous deep purple, a bit jelly-like. Absolutely adore it. As you will notice on the photos, my fingernail on the middle finger broke horribly  about a  week before I shot the swatches. And even on these it looks ugly as hell, imagine how it looked like a week or so beforehand. And it hurts like a little bitch when it breaks like this. But anyway. Bahama mama, perfect shade for Autumn days, I think.

This was three coats, again with a bit wonky brush. But it was manageable and as the colour built, my love for the colour washed all the frustration for the brush away. ;) I do not think I will ever get sick of a good dark crelly, that doesn't look black in everyday light. That's why the three pictures look so different - I took a shot in different lights, so you will see it actually is purple in every light. FTW! Bahama Mama is on my "must have Essie" list, together with Bobbing for Baubles and School of Hard Rocks. Oh, and Angora Cardi, of course. Man, I need to wear these soon again.

Which Essie is on your "must have Essie" list?

Thank you for reading and commenting!

Have a good week!

Essie Watermelon and Cute as a button combo

Good evening everyone! Just before I jump to my book and read for a couple of minutes at least, I want to show you a combo I have been wearing for almost a week, before I changed it due to a chipped nail.

Honestly, I combined Watermelon and Cute as a button because I didn't deem them as my colours, that is to say, colours I would actually like to wear. I fell in love with Watermelon immediately. Cute as a button needed a couple of days but in the end it kind of grew on me.

Naturally they were a hell to photograph. Both colours seemed kind of muted on my photos, especially Cute as a button, being a nice lively coral colour IRL. I tried every setting on my camera - some of them were quite fascinating, actually - and this is the closest I could come up to the actual colour. Those of you who have any of them or both will know they are in fact much livelier. I see a lot of wrong swatches of Cute as a button on blogsphere so I guess it is just one of those colours that do not photograph well. I think this is a must for coral colour fans, even I like it, plus the jelly-esque finish gives it the squishiness I really like. It is not a colour I would wear very often, but I can see how this is one of the more popular ones in Essie collection.

Watermelon I adore. I thought it will be too pink for me, but it really is a colour of a ripe watermelon. Yummy. Kind of red, kind of pink, but really neither of the colours. Fantastic colour.

Watermelon is a two coater and Cute as a button needed three, as it has a bit more jelly like consistency. Both have the new (for me at least) Essie brush that is very wide, but still manageable.

Love the colours, love the combo, perfect for summer.

Which shade of Essie is your favourite?

Have a lovely weekend!

*I have received both shades from L'Oreal Slovenija as a gift. This fact, however, does not reflect in my review or opinion of the polish,

Sinful Colors ~ Big Daddy

We continue weekly program later than planned, but with a real treat. This year's colour that grew most on me comparing to last year is most certainly orange. Over more than one year ago I wouldn't even think of wearing orange, thinking it is one of unwearable colours for me. Ha! So much for that! I absolutely love orange now. My first crush was obviously Orange Marmalade. And this year I craved orange even more. Since my swap buddy, Ms. My Lucid Bubble, knew that, she surprised me with a great great juicy colour in one of the packages. Yum!

A really great orange jelly that I need to wear soon again. ATM I'm sporting a poisonous green, which is also a totally delicious colour, but I think Big Daddy shall be next, it is just too awesome. For some reason I saw  a lot of red in this colour on other swatches when I googled the colour. It is not read, it is a bright bright orange that can make you thirsty for orange juice, no kidding! As it seems it's also a dupe for O.P.I. A Good Mandarin Is Hard To Find.
The formula and brush were great. This is a jelly, so it needs three coats for good opacity on my short nails, I'm thinking I'd need four on longer ones. Don't care, love the colour!

Which colour you disliked before but warmed up to it eventually?

Thank you for reading & have a great Sunday tomorrow!

Essence Prince Charming over Revlon Royal

Heya people! I'm going to be extra short today, it's beautiful, calm, rainy day here in Ljubljana, perfect for tea and a good book under a blanket. Another Essence today, this time a topper from Snow White LE, the only one I decided to take after close inspection. The silver and blue combination looked awesome in the bottle. I wish they were easier to get on the nails though. You kinda have to struggle to put them on nails. On pictures I layered it over Revlon Royal, gorgeous, gorgeous blue. Since it's a jelly, I can't show its true beauty on pictures, it always looks uneven, although it's not IRL.

Gorgeous combo, very glossy too.Two coats of Revlon Royal with one or two coats of Prince Charming, I needed to tap the glitter (especially the blue particles) on the nail. Still, I love it!

Any other bases for Prince Charming you recommend? I find this to one to be quite perfect. :)

BeYu 209

Yeah, you're gonna hate me for this one, won't you? You've seen it a million times, but now it's my turn to show it to you! I'm incredibly lucky when it comes to getting nail polish. Even when I completely give up on it or don't even consider trying to get it, a very nice girl contacts me, saying she can sent it to me in a swap. An offer I couldn't refuse was made and so now I have this beauty. So utterly gorgeous. I did a bunch of photos for ya, I couldn't decide which one to post, so I'm posting more of them. After I finished with taking pictures I sat down on the couch, basking in the sun, realising this baby looks ah-mazing in direct sunlight, so I made quick video of the sparkle play too. Hope you like it!

A very wonky picture to show you the subtle multichrome effect.

Direct sunlight. It's on fire!

And the video, direct sunlight.

I layered BeYu 209 over Revlon Royal, it seems like most bloggers advise this combo. I've shown you Royal before, but those pictures turned out pretty horrible. I didn't do much better this time either, but still better than before. You know it anyway, it's utterly gorgeous blue jelly. Get it!

Two coats of Revlon Royal, two coats of BeYu 209 and it was love. Layering it over blue even satisfies my wish for Max Factor Fantasy Fire. :)

Do you have this BeYu? Are you on the 'unicorn pee' waggon?

Thank you for reading!

Revlon - Royal

Hello darlings! And welcome new darlings! Glad to have you on board. :) We're reaching the number 500. W-o-w!! I'm thinking about celebrating the growth in number of my followers, either with the Number of the Beast of the most magical number of all times. We'll see how it goes! :) I have a few things to tell you - I'll be off in a cabin in our biggest national park, surrounded by beautiful Soča and our gorgeous mountains this weekend, starting tomorrow, which is a perfect start of celebration of my birthday on Sunday. So I'll be back with Did someone say nail polish? on Monday, hope you'll miss me at least a bit. ;) In other news - my big red comparison is going well, I have so many reds at home it will be a red comparison week. I hope you'll like that.:)

But to the nail polish! Today I have for you yet another one from the swap I did with Kris and this one is beautiful Royal blue.

As much as I love the colour, I hate the pictures. The pull up was not nearly that big IRL and I didn't have any VNL! My camera just exaggerated big time. What's interesting about this polish is, that it dries with a plastic finish. As I didn't think it suited the colour much, I added TC and all of the sudden it looked exactly like a jelly. True jelly. Freaky polish. But I like the colour, true blue. I expected Dating a Royal would look like that, but for some odd reason it didn't. :S
I don't think Revlon gives them out in collections, so no info on that. Oh, this was two coats. The brush didn't rock my world one bit, it's very broom like, si I had some troubles with it. I expected it to not last long, because of the plastic finish, and it didn't, the tip wear was rather big in two days already. But I like the colour, so it's forgiven. :)

What do you think about Royal? :) Have a great weekend! :)

Thank you for reading and following! *muah*
