Comparison: China Glaze Fast Track vs. Catrice Clay-ton My Hero

How I thought these two were similar I still do not know. Scrangie said Fast Track reminds her of Essence Irreplaceable and in my head Essence and Catrice are close enough not to own them both. As you will see in the pictures, they are not really similar. Actually, they're not very close either. My skin had a rough time when I made this comparison. Luckily now it's much much better, thanks to my hand cremes and oils. It was dried up and I got a major cut on my pinky, like a paper cut, only a bit thicker and longer, it hurt like a papercut though. I was able to cut it out from the pictures, so I'll spare you the view. ;)

Clay-ton My Hero is a taupe with golden shimmer, while Fast Track is beige with golden glass flecks. I suck at describing colours, but I guess that's close enough. :) Naturally they don't look at all similar, I guess the concept of making could be, although I think China Glaze wanted the golden glass flecks to really pop out, whine Clay-ton My Hero is very work appropriate with shyer shimmer.
Two coats of Catrice, three of China Glaze, both polishes have a wonderful formula and wonderful brushes.  I like them both, I was on the verge of giving Clayton away, but there is something awesome on it that I really like. So I kept it. Glad to know I don't have any dupes of it! :)

Do you have any of the two? Which one do you prefer?

Orly pretty pair Fowl Play and Nite Owl

Heya people! Whoa. You have no idea how many pictures I have prepared for you and are just piling on the computer, because I don't have the time to post them. Sucks! I had an exam today, I hope it went well. Came home, changed my mani and now I'm half way through the door already to my dance practise. No rest for the wicked.

I remembered I haven't shown you the two Orlys I got a while ago yesterday, as I was admiring my Nite Owl mani. Nite Owl is one of the varnishes I actually wear ... you know, more than once. There is something so nice and clean and subtle on it. Fowl Play on the other hand is the big bird showing off of this collection. Look at me, all beautiful and gorgeous and FLAKIED. Yeah. So imagine my surprise when I put it on and wasn't over the moon about it. Don't get me wrong, it's a stunning colour, but it didn't rock my world as much as I thought it will. Nite Owl is the quiet winner of this collection in my humble opinion.

The most gorgeous part of Fowl Play is the blue glitter. I love that SO much on this polish! It's not nearly as visible on the pictures as it is on the nail. What I don't like is the tricky application, my nails look thick, I really dislike that effect. Still ... eh, you know, it's a totally gorgeous colour, one can't help but think that. I just didn't see fireworks wearing it. Three coats.

My little beauty. Nite Owl. BTW, how can a nail polish not be awesome, if it's named after owls?! I love it. I totally didn't think I will love it so much, but I do. It looks so much better on nails than in the bottle, and there is nothing wrong with how it looks in the bottle either! Three coats, after the second I still had bold spots. Perfect formula though!

BTW ... wouldn't this pic be PERFECT for Orly's display on this collection? I'd probably buy the entire collection if I saw this as the official promo picture. :D

xD It's probably an old joke with this collection, I'm just months behind, like usually, so if i'm the only one chuckling, it's understandable. ;)

These two are a part of Orly Birds of a Feather Collection for Fall 2011. A rather strong collection, IMO, with two more neat colours, but as I have similar blue foil and jade green creme, I passed on the other two. Fowl Play and Nite Owl are totally worth buying though!

Did you get any colours from this collection?

Kiko: 278, 319, 205

Hey darlings! And welcome new people! Glad you can join us! I had the most amazing vacation ever, 6 wonderful days with great people on a great place in the middle of nowhere and it was just ... perfect, really. It's where and when I recharge my batteries for the whole year. Even my BF showed up for a day, it was the most beautiful surprise ever (I really didn't expect him to show up at all). So all in all a great week. I should be studying my ass of right now, naturally, but as you already probably know, I can't stay away for long. Forgive me for not replying to your comments, I read and appreciate them all, I just don't have the time to reply them. Sorry! And thank you!

I have another three Kikos for you today. I have three or two left in my untrieds, so I guess another set will be in order. I have *so* many things to show you, I have no idea when will I do that. So you can expect more combined posts.

 278. This type of purple and finish are all over the place. Sadly I get fed up of it fast for that reason, but it's still a beautiful one. It's lighter purple than the rest I have in this area too. A lovely colour, but it doesn't photograph well, you should imagine it tons cooler. I hate my pictures of it. :(

 319. I bet you didn't see this one coming! This was a gift from my cousin, who is the exact opposite of me when it comes to nails. She loves french manicure and the wildest she goes with the colours is this Kiko. So basically a major boredom for me. That's why I was shocked at myself when I realized I love 319. Pardon my arrogance, but it made my nails and hands look so beautiful. I got bored of it in a day, of course, but it's my favourite safe colour now.

A bottle comparsion with China Glaze Below Deck:

205 over 319. It's what I did the next day of wearing 319. Tevta got me 205 because it looks very much like China Glaze White Cap that was at that point completely sold out. Otherwise it has the "french manicure" sticker on the handle. Tell you the truth, if this is how White Cap looks like on the nails for real, I'm disappointed. 205 whitens the base colour way too much for my taste. Still, the golden sparkles are lovely.

278 needs three to four coats to be completely opaque. Not something I love about a polish, but the result is worth it. It looks like a brighter sister of Orly Out Of This World, but with less duochrome. It dries really fast, I didn't need TC for this one.
319 needs two coats only and it's really easy to work with, a very well behaved polish.
205 is the one I'm not sure about. I don't like the milky bonus it adds to the base colour. The White Cap owners, tell me, does White Cap whiten the base colour too?

The brush is fantastic and the application a bliss. Kiko rocks, seriously.

What do you think of these? I already have some comparison prepared, if you want to see the Below deck one on the nails too, let me know!
