Still breathing ... oh, and Big Universo Hydrargyrus on the nails

Hey my dear people. I was sure I will get back to regular blogging after I return from Hong Kong and Vienna and yet, here I am, writing one post per month still. It is interesting, how I was obsessed with blogging every day first year and a half, and now I often forget about it completely for days. Life got in the way, so I do not feel bad about it at all, just find it interesting. And on a hot day like today, when I am waiting for sundown, so it will cool off enough to go jogging, and then back to studying (yes, I am still a week away from finishing the exam period), I thought it will be a good thing to get through my unposted pictures. Big Universo looked pretty good on swatches, so here it is.
I am cheating a bit with the title, on my nails it's actually Bourjois Turquoise something polish, but my camera cannot capture the right shade, so I gave up.Plus, a week ago two of my nails snapped very painfully right in the nailbed, so I do not like the shape of my nails at all ATM, since I cannot really shape them, until they grow a bit.

It can't be really seen on my photos, but this polish is quite the chameleon. Actually ... it reminds me of snakeskin of some awesome snake that can change colour depending on light that is hitting it. Very cool indeed. One of the amazing Brazil polishes. This was three coats, great formula and brush.

ArtDeco ~ 130

Hey people! It's been a while. May is the hardest with the exams, although June is going to be hard as well. Lots of work. Today I had one of the exams and I am so tired. Nevertheless, I am still polishing my nails and trying to take photos of my nails (my camera is slowly dying on me). This particular polish is an old gift I got for NY a couple of years ago. I actually doubt it is still available ... it is a part of ArtDeco Ceramic Nail Lacquer line. I am not a fan of ArtDeco nail polish solely because the price is way to steep in my opinion, for the rather poor choice of colours. Well, maybe the choice is not that bad ... just not after my taste. But this little fellow is a pretty one.

I can't remember really, but I think this was three coats. Good brush as well. I especially love the golden specks of irregular shapes in the purple base.

Do you own any ArtDeco nail polish?

Emerald Sparkle meets flakies

Heya guys. I have about 15 minutes before I need to run to my dance class, so I will be short. I want to show you one of the best manis I have worn in the past few months. I layered Nfu Oh 56 over China Glaze Emerald Sparkle. It is a combination I did not wish to make, because I imagined the removal will be an agony, but my BF insisted on it. Yeah, every once in a while he looks at my stash, grabs a bottle or two and says I should wear *that*. With this combo I needed some convincing, but I so did not regret wearing the combination. Emerald Sparkle is easily one of the best greens in my stash, is absolutely stunning. And Nfu Oh 56 is my favourite Nfo Oh flakie I have ... both create such a rich colour. The glitter of Emerald Sparkle gives it depth and the green flakies that shift to blue at some angles, an extra touch to the awesomeness. It really is a gorgeous mani. Oh, and the removal was not messier because of the combination, the standard foil removal did just fine (although admittedly I dislike the foil removal in general ;)).

As always with manis I really love, I do not think the pictures do this one justice, but I tried. And even made a video of it, just so you will see how the sparkles become alive under the flakies.

It also has that 'lit within' effect, but my camera failed to capture it. Still, I absolutely adore this. Emerald Sparkle really is not just a Christmas polish, I should wear it more often. And in case you are wondering: 3 coats of Emerald Sparkle, two (thin! - I noticed thin coats work much much better for these flakies) coats of Nfu Oh 56 and a dash of top coat.

What do you think? What is your favourite layering combination?

Hits ~ Zeus

Another gorgeous holo for this beautiful sunny day. It's a holiday today in Slovenia, but i have to study my butt off and then I have dance practise in the evening. I can't wait, to tell you the truth, I missed having regular workout routine during the past few months. And with this beautiful weather we are having, I can go out and start jogging and all, yay! I prefer to jog right after the sun goes down, so I jog in twilight. Also because I get red in the face really fast and then people, who pass me by, look at me like I am about to faint, although I feel just fine. For some odd reason that bothers me, maybe because I do not have the confidence of a jogger yet. ;) Doesn't matter, what I need to show you today is Hits beauty called Zeus. Scrangie said about it "if you missed out on the original version of OPI My Private Jet, this is practically the same thing, only a little bit better". I did missed out on the My Private Jet hype, but I have worn it, the original and the brown version, that I have borrowed from a friend. And I can only agree, Zeus is more holographic, at least as far as I can recall.

Even in faint evening light, this beauty still shimmers with holographic effect, only the strongest holos in my stash are able to do that.

The brush is less than good, it is wonky and stiff. I had worse but I also had much much better. It can be seen on some of my nails, that is why it bothers me. But ok, it is manageable. I put two to three coats, depends on the nail. I love it, I really do. It is an amazing black holo, just what I craved from My Private Jet and Revvvolution phase on. :)

Do you like black holos, do you have one or a favourite?
