New In ~ A Haul Post

Hello everybody! How are you doing? I am just about to go for my jogging hour and then to my studying. As it happens, I got the job I was hoping to get and I start tomorrow, I am quite excited about that. I'm moving to my own place, similar to what I had in Bratislava, with entirely new schedule for me. We'll see how it goes. :)

I planned to do this post yesterday, but we went out and I ran out of time. It is essentially May haul post. And I kind of bought a lot this month.

Maybe a lot is a strong expression ... certainly more than in previous few months. :) The pictures are an adventure, because my camera went crazy, I hope it is not too annoying. I think I really need to toss it at this point, but I dislike the pictures my cell phone makes, so I am trying to make it work ..

Nail stuff first! Afrodita Oliva nail polish remover is the only nail polish remover with acetone I can use and it is my favourite nail polish remover ever, together with its acetoneless sister called Aroma. I finally used up Sally Hansen remover I bought in Blava, where you can't get Afrodita and the change in quality is amazing. I love Afrodita, if you have the chance, try it! :)

China Glaze Splish Splash nail polish I bought on a whim from a girl, because I really liked it on swatches and it was on my WL since the collection came out. I am wearing it ATM and it feels very very similar to Zoya Tallulah. Comparison will follow.

And Born Pretty Store water decals, three of them, you already saw Pandas, and I have two more to show you. Fun stuff, I love water decals!

Stuff for skin and face! :) A little package of testers I got from Sabex, our distributor of Bioderma brand. You can go online and give your information and they send you testers every once in a while. That is where I got my tester of their BB Sensibio cream and now I got a perfect package for my mixed skin, Sebium Global creme is already on my WL, I think it will be great for me, as my skin condition worsened in the past year.

Illamasqua blusher Allure. Oh dear Lord of the Rings. One word comes to mind whenever I think of this blusher: pigmentation!! It is hands down the best blusher I have ever used. You need to touch it with your brush really really lightly and then tap it on your hand and then put it on your face, otherwise it will be too much. Amazing blush. And I LOVE the colour. Gorgeous little thing. I need to get more Illamasqua in my life. It was a bargain, I got is as exchange on mojbutik, but I honestly think it is worth whatever money they are demanding for it.

Oriflame double sided brush I got as exchange on mojbutik and it is a good brush, albeit a bit hard to store. But it is good for applying eyeshadow.

Etude Proof 10 Eye Primer is an eyeshadow base that I was planning to order for a loooong time. Ever since I saw the review on mejkap.si so yeah, long time. I still haven't tried it, as my ArtDeco one is still acting nicely, but I can't wait to put it to the test! You can see on the first picture a bunch of testers I got with it.

And something for hair and body. :) Le Petit Marseillais brand got on my radar when a good friend of mine brought me a couple of their products all the way from France and I loved them. Later on I noticed our Leclerc has some of their lines and I tried them again and loved them. So it was great news for me when I saw they are coming to Slovenia for real, with most of their lines and Leclerc had this huge sale on them a couple of weeks ago. So I got their Shea butter and honey hair conditioner and their Shea butter, almond and Argan oil body lotion. They smell divine, especially body lotion and they are great (I prefer the white, almond hair conditioner though).

Balea Warmwachs I got again after reading amazing review on mejkap.si, and I already tried it on my legs and loved the result. It is good stuff. It is on sale right now since they are discontinuing it (figures!) so I already bought another package.

As always, if you want any specific reviews of any of the products in this post, just let me know in the comments. :)

What did you purchase for yourself in the last month? :)

Thank you for reading and commenting!

Makeup Revolution Base! eyeshadow and Amazing Curl mascara review

Hey everyone! Again a review of Makeup Revolution products I received kindly from Slovenian online store licila.si. Today I have for you a make up look I did with mono eyeshadow called Base! and their mascara Amazing Curl in Ultra Black shade.

First of all, when I opened the package and saw the eyeshadow, I was rather sure it is poorly pigmented and therefore good for highlighting and perhaps even blending only. Imagine my surprise when I tried it and realised it is so well pigmented I can wear it as a main eyeshadow on my eyes.
As far as mascara is concerned, my eyelashes are not my best feature, so I need a little extra in my mascaras for them to work. Amazing Curl is extremely dry mascara, therefore it requires a lot of work with it in order to look presentable.

This is the look I did with the Base! as my main eyeshadow. I put Amazing Curl mascara on my left eye and my Bourjois Twist Up the Volume on my right eye. They might look similar, but I want to point out I did only two swipes with Bourjois mascara - one with the straight bristles and one with the twisted ones; and needed to do about four or five of them with Amazing Curl mascara, as it is SO DRY!! The reason why I compare them in this manner is also because I opened them at about the same time, and usually with new mascaras the trouble is that they are too wet in the beginning but gradually they become drier and you can use them normally. Makeup Revolution Amazing Curl is so dry right now that it feels like any other mascara right before you toss it in the bin.

Base! is this wonderful light champagne colour that works for me so well, it opens my eyes, it is subtle and yet bright enough to make your eyes pop a bit. Fantastic for everyday look, or to highlight your evening look. Versatile and well pigmented, you can use it for just about any look. I use it for this look most often and I wear it a couple of times a week, because it is fast, it is subtle and perfect for work and it opens up my eyes, I feel like I look really fresh and rested, even if I am not. :)

This is just one swipe with a brush, over a primer.

I love the packaging, it works well but does not require my nails to break in order to open it, plus it looks nice. The logo will come off rather soon, I think, but I do not really care about that.

And now Amazing Curl Mascara:

I actually like the slightly curved head of the mascara, it hugs my inner corner rather nicely. It is similar to MUA Extreme Curl mascara I once bought. But it is basically the only thing I liked on both of them. Makeup Revolution Amazing Curl is too dry and it consequently requires way to much work for mascara to look proper on my eyelashes. Applying it 4 or 5 times can also mean you ruin the make up look, because your eyelashes can get glued together, or you smudge your eyelids, which I basically always do with Amazing Curl.
I think the package is ok, nothing special, but it does its job. It is a plastic black tube, nothing too revolutionary, but I couldn't care less, if the mascara would be good. But I would not recommend it, even if it is really cheap, unless you have naturally perfect eyelashes, I do not think this mascara will work for you.

You can buy Makeup Revolution Mono Eyeshadow Base! on licila.si for only 1,95€, and on Makeup Revolution site for £1. Makeup Revolution Amazing Curl mascara is available on licila.si for 2,95€ (it is currently sold out), or on the official site for £2

In short, I would really recommend the Base! eyeshadow and I will definitively try some other eyeshadows from Makeup Revolution, as the pigmentation of Base! really pleasantly surprised me. However, Makeup Revolution Amazing Curl I would not buy nor recommend.

Did you try any of their eyeshadows, any recommendations? Did you have a better experience with the Amazing Curl mascara or any other they offer?

The winner of the giveaway and a panda mani!

Hello darlings! I have returned with my winner Rafflecopter kindly picked up at random from all your entries. She also already replied to my email, so she is confirmed winner. :) Congratulations, Amanda, for winning the $20 voucher at Born Pretty Store! I am sure you will have a blast, picking all the goodies for that money! And thanks again to Born Pretty Store for sponsoring the giveaway. :)

BTW; it was great fun reading your comments and I truly appreciate you all who read and comment my little blog, it is basically the biggest reason why I still go on with blogging, despite my not so regular postings, as my schedule gets fuller and fuller. So, in short, you are the best! :) I hope I will host another giveaway soon!

In light of this being a Born Pretty Store giveaway, I am showing a mani I did in the beginning of the week with their water decals I received for reviewing purposes. You all don't know this about me, but I am a bear fan. I think they are among the cutest animals on the planet. And of course I love the fuzzy cute panda bear! So when I saw these water decals of pandas, I did not hesitate for one bit. :)

Gosh, aren't they adorable!? The item itself is called 1Sheet Cute Panda Pussy Vivid Feather Pattern Design Nail Art Water Decals Transfers Sticker, item ID #12302 (and the main reason why I always write this down is that I find the names of most of their items incredibly amusing). As you can see, you can pick three different images, the pandas, the peacock feathers and a kitty cat called Marie, I think this is from a cartoon of some sort.

Naturally I picked pandas, since I think bears are adorable and these are really well made, and did this mani with it:

I did the pattern a bit differently on my right hand, that's why I am showing it as well. Isn't it adorable?? I love it! I used Kiko 296 for this one, with H&M White on my ring fingers.

Water decals themselves are incredibly easy to use, that is also the reason why I am becoming a rather frequent user of water decals. They spice up my mani, it looks like I can do nail art (which I can't, not really) and they take no time whatsoever. You cut the patterns off the sheet, take the protective layer off, dunk everything in water for approx. 10 seconds, take it out and put it on your nails, tap it a bit, so you also remove the water and it is done. Lovely. Plus, they are really cheep. ATM the panda bear water decals (and peacocok feathers and the Marie kitty cat) cost only $1,86. They are on sale from a regular price of $2,86, which is already seriously cheap, with the price on sale they are almost giving them away. Perfect chance for you to get them.

I really loved this mani, I wore it until the nail polish started to chip. Panda bears are adorable!

As always, use my 10% discount code when shopping at Born Pretty Store! Did I ever mention they have worldwide free shipping? Well, they do! And who knows, maybe you will use it again so many times we will have another giveaway soon. :)

What do you think, like it? Are you a fan of water decals? :)

Thank you all for reading and commenting, have a wonderful start of new week tomorrow!
